2012 Mazda2
Hey Guys been lurking the forums for a few months but about time I say whats up. Name is Saad and not new to cars but I have to say the Mazda 2 is one of the funnest I've had. And yes I do autox it and yes has this car caught the eyes of a lot of people on the track. Well here are some pics of her. The painted steelies was just done.... I know rule of thumb is never paint steelies but they were already rusting so I went for it.... I dont think it looks bad. Only used 1 can so I think its a win.

Here are some pics of me racing her for the first time at the track... got many laughs from my friends because I used to own a very tuned Forester which I'll post later but got 1st in my class that day so all the laughs stopped quick lol.

Awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Sick Fozzy too - and LOVE the gold steelies.

Welcome. I had 2 modded foresters prior to the 2. First one was an '03 that I kept NA. 2nd one was a '00 fully swapped out with wrx, sti, JDM Forester turbo and FSTi bits.

yea the autox was at nyr Nassau. I perfer the ones at Tobay beach because the coarse is faster... you ever ran at Nassau.

You need to throw up some pics of the 00' fozzy. I always wanted to do up an older gen foz like that. True sleeper. What great cars. Did the 03 have any suspension mods?

My foresters:

I really miss the FSTi suspension setup I had on those. Somehow they were amazing for everything from chasing STi's through mountain roads to rutted gravel roads and even handled landings from small jumps without flinching.

Suspension mods on the '03 were just the FSTi takeoffs, rear STi swaybar, and front and rear kartboy endlinks. The '00 had the FSTi takeoffs rebuilt and revalved by FEAL, plus whiteline 26mm adj FSB, kartboy front endlinks, perrin 26mm adj rear swaybar, perrin rear endlinks, carbon fiber STi front strut brace, whiteline quick release rear strut brace, WRX front crossmember and control arms, STi rear subframe and control arms.

The white one is just sex... we should just make a old whips we have owned thread lol. I had 04 sti take-offs with the end of its life with me put on sti pinks with kyb agx's. I had the same boost gauge(2thumbs) and also had kartboy front endlinks and perrins on the rears lol.

I thought the spherical bearing/bushing design on the perrin endlinks was pretty neat. When I got the white one from the previous owner, it was on impreza agx's with impreza spec swift wagon springs. Super low. It looked pretty cool but kinda defeated the purpose of having an awd wagon. From what I was able to figure out, the JDM FSTi takeoffs were one of maybe 2 or 3 sets in the US. I got 'em super cheap since they had lots of miles on them, hence the rebuild when I swapped them from the silver to white forester. The stiffer chassis of the SG actually made it more fun to drive, despite being down 150 hp or so.

Yea the JDM Fsti takeoff are super rare... Jelly you had them on lol. Are those 02 WRX seats inside?

A well deserved Congratulations! 2nd place out of 22 in class? You should have had 1st but some corner workers were tired and missed an O/C that the 1st place car had. Those are the breaks. You drove well. Now get some better tires and mix it up with the others. I dropped by and was working 4 while you were driving. Tip: bigger arcs in the sweepers and you can carry more speed into the straights, esp. the last right hander. You should have gone way out before turning right. And, no reason to lift through finish funnel! See you next time!
PS Lots of folks commented how good your car looked and how well you drove!

Nope. They are from the TR model. The '02-'03 wrx seats have black bolsters with black/blue centers. I had an '03 WRX sedan that I bought new and sold a couple years ago. I'd probably still have it if I had gotten a wagon.

Thanks. I just seen the results. Its funny because at trophy time i placed fist and Honda guy placed second. Oh well all that matters is it was fun! And thanks for the tip. I'll try to remember to keep bigger arcs in the sweepers. For years I relied on power so was never concerned about keeping up my speed... I need more practice to fix that. And My last run I didn't lift thru that finish tunnel and plowed thru 3 cones lol. Like you said need better tires... budget is killing me right now... so right now driving them till they are bald! And very surprised folks noticed the car.
Deff see you next time!
