Nocturnalspeed's Welcome & Build Thread

As always your pics are great man. I'm really liking the the perrin overflow tank, intercooler piping, new radiator setup, but the only thing that is distracting is the egr pipe hookup to the turbo manifold. Scuff the sucker down real good and use some high flat black paint. Should help make it disappear in the engine bay. Just merely a suggestion because all the work you've done so far is extra clean. Keep it up

Mang you gotta change those rusty Tbolt clamps out and trim those radiator brackets!

Sander - I'm contemplating on deleting it like I did on my MSP, or maybe throwing on the shiny flex hose that came with the 505 mani (I think it came with it). New pics this weekend with the 505 on (thumb) Thanx Sander.

Alamo - Half the Injen.

Marc - I noticed that too when I snapped the pics! I'm gonna have David change out those 3 clamps on the intake pipe with some fresh ones....we have a bag of t-bolt clamps I've collected, but there all little too small. Thanx for the info guys, gotta keep us on our toes and point out the changes that need to be made :)

s*** im just trying to get running correctly before I start touching up the engine bay. The stock tune SUX!!!

As soon as we get the 505 in and tuned correctly, I'll be detailing the engine asap and maybe replacing out a few things here and there like the power steering fluid bottle, battery hold down and getting rid of the entire windshield washer since I'll be installing the cf hood as soon as Charles and I get back from DFW along with the other cf goodies.

Thanks for the input guys! She's coming along nicely. I'm truly proud all my money is paying off haha..

just talked to your brother about the 505 mani about 20 mins ago you should be good to go !

Hey bro, yeah we finally made it work. s*** was a pain in the ass, but I think were all good to go. Just need to fix one of the injectors that has a small leak. I'm praying that'll fix the idle issue and get ready to go to a meet tonight :)

which injector and did you put the lithium grease on the o rings when you put them on the injectors?

do you have a link to the speedcircuit water neck? i cant seem to find it on their site. unless they stopped making it like so many other protege parts.....

DiscreetSpeed is giving me one off his older msp. Yes, my brother said he has some kind of lithium grease he'll use when we replace the ruined one.

505 Intake Manifold, Outlaw E. Spacers, Perrin Catch Can Installed

Finished installing the 505 intake manifold this weekend , and I will say it was quite a pain in the ass for my brother and I. Everything went smooth except for mounting the stock fuel rail, which from reading around is THE problem with installing this piece. After changing out torn upper and lower injector O-rings from installing and uninstalling, we finally got injectors seated correctly.....and she's running smooth! Used a blue intercooler hose my brother had in his scrap bin, until I get a black one sent to me.

After driving around a bit to make sure everything was fine, the Outlaw thermo spacers did their job and kept the manifold and throttle body from burning up. I was able to touch the manifold and not get burned, and the throttle body was just a little warm.

Also installed the Perrin Oil Catch Can, and I'm not totally sure about its location at the moment. I have it in front of the battery for now, and I'd actually like some input from you guys on its current location. I was going to put it up top to the left of the manifold, but an Aeromotive FPR may be mounted over there in due time and the catch can would be hidden back there. All comments are welcomed...

Installed: 505 Intake Manifold, Outlaw Engineering Thermoblock Spacers, & Perrin Oil Catch Can

looks pretty good, im just not really a fan of engine covers, too much plastic for me lol
notice a big difference with the 505?

Thanks, yeah I'm still debating if I should remove the engine cover or not. I have it on there for the moment since there is nothing special behind it. Maybe when I get a powder coated valve cover or fuel rail down the line I'll think about removing it.

Car felt really good, but I keep hitting fuel cut... I have to say right around 5k-ish the car pulled hard all the way through 6.5k for some odd reason. Spooled harder then anything I ever felt before. My brother was in car and we both looked at each other like wtf was that?

It was only up in the higher rpm's though is where I felt a big difference. Around 3 through 5 is was meh... I just need a tune... rocking the 7 psi is not fun anymore.

It honestly felt like it hit boost from that rpm, quite strange, but nice :)

I keep thinking to myself what a tune would do for the quick spooling T25 and 505 together. Waiting on the Deatschwerks injectors I ordered and it's off to get tuned woot woot!
