No idea whats wrong

The easiest way I can describe this is that it acks like I am holding the clutch in when I am not.

I press the gas and it just revs up and doesn't go.

It will eventually accel but not like it should and only at HIGH rpm.

I am not having any problems putting the car in gear at all.

That doesn't look good then.

The dealer service center is closed on the weekend. I will call them on Monday and get the car in there. It should be still be under warranty.

I bought the car in April of 04 and I have just less then 50000 on it.

I will see what they say before I go forward.

Thanks for your input

The dealer claims its the clutch and not the LSD but they will not take the tranny apart to look at the LSD and see if that is bad also. Well they will but for a price and since I am still under their warranty I am going to see what I can do

Yea, sounds like your LSD. Do you hear a nasty grinding noise when you accel. like metal pieces are rattling around in there?

Even if your clutch was completely gone, you could still power the car.
Free rev=broken LSD. sorry

sounds like the clutch to me, he is able to move at only high rpms, another way to confirm is you put it in 1st then release the clutch, if the car doesn't stall, its your clutch

Since its still under warranty I talked with the dealer and I have them put in a new clutch they will tear it down and look at the lsd while they are in the process of putting in the new clutch. They will even install an aftermarket clutch for the same labor charge as the factory one.

I am ordering the Act Street Performance Clutch kit and going to have them install it so that they can look at the lsd at the same time.

Ya they charge more for the labor then most places but since I am within 500 miles of being out of warranty now is pretty much they only chance I have to get the lsd looked at and replaced under warranty if needed.

From what I have read on the lsd, when it breaks the car doesn't go at all. My car will still go somewhat.

I don't hear any sound of grinding or anything close to it

Replacing the clutch will be my first major repair and my first mod besides tint and cd changer.

It's not the LSD, it's the clutch-- perhaps a worn out pressure plate. Unless you beat the crap out of your clutch on a daily basis, it should last beyond warranty though (strange). My clutch lasted over 100,000 miles-- but then again aside from the occasional beating I babied it.

acks? Why not axe?! :-P

Anyway, sounds like a clutch issue.

Also - have you noticed any oil leaking from in between the trans and the block?

No i have not seen any fluid leaking. I park it in a garage so I would have seen that.

I don't drive the car hard at all.

I originally bought the car with the intent of fixing it up but now that I have 2 kids I have not been able to do that.

I am thinking of selling it soon just because its too small of a car for 2 kids.
