What a day it has been. I dropped of the car this morning for the CEL fuel neckline replacement. The service guy comes back into the waiting area and tells me we have to drain some of the gas out of your tank because you filled up your car. So I said ok no problem the gas is going to be place right back right? He replies yes sir.
The car is completed in about 2hrs I drive home no problem 4hrs later I decide to take my fianc out for a ride because our neighbors are blasting Mexican music so loud you cant even think.
I start the car no problem we begin to drive we happen to have the AC on all the sudden the most strong odor is inside the cabin pure gasoline smell. We think is someone elses crappy car tossing exhaust out so I roll down the window , and no smell outside. We continue to drive thinking the smell would go away it gets worst we decide to pull into a corporate parking lot. I place the car in park open the door and look around the vehicle it smells very strong all the sudden a waterfall of gasoline is pouring out from the car I yell to my fianc get the hell out of the car for fear the car would ignite and burn us to death. The fire dept comes out puts speedy dry and request that the car gets towed back to the dealer I called AAA because mazda service kept me on hold AAA tells me 1hr. The fire chief says we are not waiting 1hr call back and tell them to speed things up the car has gasoline outside its a hazmat scene. The rep bullshits and tells me 30minutes well the Fire Dept left and the chief gave me his cell phone in case the flatbed tow truck driver needed authorization to tow the car call him. We are left in 90 degree heat for 1hr 30 minutes I was sooo pissed off we where roasting with no shade cover.
The car gets towed back to the dealership finally I had the driver stop by my house to get my fiancs car to my surprise no one from service dept is available they are all gone @ 3pm on a Saturday. Meanwhile the dealership remains open till 9pm that makes no sense I tried to explain to the general manager what has happened he does not want to get involved so now tomorrow I have to wake up early to drive there with the other car to find out what story there going to tell me. The Saga continues I have no car.
I am so pissed off @ this dealership now I fear I would continue to have problems and or when turning on the AC I would smell gas from now on for a while and In my line of work I am inside my car more then anything (Field Support). Anyone can possibly tell me what they think has gone wrong?
