Hello all,
I just upgraded my brake system and this is what I did:
Since, like you guys are finding out, the MSP rotors are so had to fit in the aftermarket (except for the KVR, which I dont like from a bad experience with another car I had) I decided to see what can be done with the stock rotor.
I had a set of front rotors on my old Subaru impreza cryo treated and they lasted untill I sold the car. Thats 80K without ever warping and I went through 3.5 Mintex 1166 pads (not rotor friendly).
I contacted Bill Groschen @
http://www.frozenrotors.com/ to ask if they had an application for the MSP. the answer was " no but we can run out to the nearest Mazda dealership and pick up a set, cryo treat them and send it out to you". This would cost:
$75.60 for each front rotor from Mazda after tax. ( I checked with my local dealer and they were going for $70)
$56.00 to cryo treat each rotor.
Thats $263.20 for both rotors cryo treated and $20 S/H to Miami for a total of $283.20 shipped. I also opted for the $45 per rotor slotting which brought the total to $373.20.
My next step was to order the Carbotech Bobcats for all 4 corners. All I can say is WOW.
