My bad Dex. Mazda really screwed us for after-market rotors. lol. Unless the 323 is big enough in Europe to have its own aftermarket. lol.

As for why the rear rotors are bigger. That's a good question. Of course 6 mm difference probably doesn't matter much.

Dexter I get the same thing when I brake maybe its something more then warped rotors? Because I only have 14000 mi on my car. I rarely ever brake hard and i never drove through deep puddles when my rotors were really hot. Plus theres another thread stating info about this pulsating problem. Anyways Wilwood also makes brake kits for our cars dont know if they just make rotors though. Good Luck
My rotors warped around 8,000 miles, and I finally got them turned by the dealer at 12,000. If you feel that pulsation when braking while stoping at a light, then the rotors are warped.

Front is 10.9", no?

I don't know what this 'euro-spec' crap is, I looked up the Turbo Diesel Protege brakes in EBC's European market catalogue...

2.0 TD (BJ1) 98- D1125 V 4
257mm

257mm = 10.1"
so, what the hell...
and plus, that 4 means its a 4 bolt pattern...not 5...so how the hell are our brakes 'euro-spec'

The regular '323' brakes are these:

2.0 2001- D1191 V 5 274 48 24 22

5 bolt pattern and 274mm... = 10.79"

close, but not the 10.9".

Hello all,

I just upgraded my brake system and this is what I did:

Since, like you guys are finding out, the MSP rotors are so had to fit in the aftermarket (except for the KVR, which I dont like from a bad experience with another car I had) I decided to see what can be done with the stock rotor.

I had a set of front rotors on my old Subaru impreza cryo treated and they lasted untill I sold the car. Thats 80K without ever warping and I went through 3.5 Mintex 1166 pads (not rotor friendly).

I contacted Bill Groschen @ http://www.frozenrotors.com/ to ask if they had an application for the MSP. the answer was " no but we can run out to the nearest Mazda dealership and pick up a set, cryo treat them and send it out to you". This would cost:

$75.60 for each front rotor from Mazda after tax. ( I checked with my local dealer and they were going for $70)
$56.00 to cryo treat each rotor.

Thats $263.20 for both rotors cryo treated and $20 S/H to Miami for a total of $283.20 shipped. I also opted for the $45 per rotor slotting which brought the total to $373.20.

My next step was to order the Carbotech Bobcats for all 4 corners. All I can say is WOW.

Good info dude, really awesome...

so a bit under 300 for rotors that should last the lifetime of the car...not bad....

Oh yeah I forgot, the rotors came with a strip of temp sensitive paint on the outer edge.

The color key is as follows:

Red Ambient temp.
Rust 700 deg F
Orange 875 deg F
Yellow 1000 deg F
Pale yellow 1200 deg F
Gray Green 1475 deg F

But after 850 miles of my driving (wrc) the paint is still red. (shrug)

Maybe its those stupid Bobcats stoping the car before they have time to heat up. (thumb)
