new rotors?

Mine are poop. Who the hell makes some rotors for us? Anyone besides KVR @ corksport? I think I remember iON mentioning they have rotors...anyone have more info or a price on that? I could use some new front pads too...EBC has part numbers in ther catalog for Greenstuffs for us, but my distributor says they aren't in production. Probably just horse-s*** because they are stupid. And then there is Carbotech also.

how many miles do you have, and are you hard on your brakes? did you ever have the rotors turned? just curious...

i dont think those brembos will work on a msp.. arent the front rotors a lil bigger than mp3 + p5 ones?

I've seen several members sell brembos in the for sale section to which they claimed it would be a perfect fit for the msp as well. Someone please chime in on this so we can all benefit from a clear answer. :)

the msp brakes are not regular protege ones..they ar eoff a european model mazda along with our bad ic lol....i dunno if its front and back but i know we dont got stock protege binders up front (rockon)

the fronts are 10.9" and the back 11" IIRC. i dont think regular MP3/P5 rotors will work..

UnwrittenLaw: 25,000 miles. I brake hard sometimes, and ive never had my rotors turned. I'd rather just have better rotors rather than turning them over and over. When im breaking, and coming right to the stop, my car moves in an undulating forward and backward motion, as if i was pressing and letting go of the pedal. If i brake really hard, i get no such motion, so this leads me to belive my rotors are warped..maybe im wrong though...

sounds like warped rotors to me... turning wouod be cheap and effective for a while... but I couldn't tell you if the p5/sedan/mp3 rotors would work for you or not... I know the size difference stock isn't THAT off, but who knows?

Dexter I get the same thing when I brake maybe its something more then warped rotors? Because I only have 14000 mi on my car. I rarely ever brake hard and i never drove through deep puddles when my rotors were really hot. Plus theres another thread stating info about this pulsating problem. Anyways Wilwood also makes brake kits for our cars dont know if they just make rotors though. Good Luck

would using different size rotors really matter esp if its brembos? I would assume you would get better stopping power on them as opposed to the stockers even though they might be slightly smaller.

Sorry guys,

Brembos won't work. Nor will any other rotor they sell for the ES/P5. Well, that's not exactly true. The fronts will work, but not the rears. As of right now as far as I know only KVR via CorkSport makes replacements for the OEM E-Spec rear rotors. I bought the KVRs and I am quite happy with them, but that was before the big price jump. I doubt I would buy them for what they cost now.

Yes, it will matter quite a bit. One guy out here bought P5 rotors and tried to put them on his MSP. Within a few miles he had chewed the hell out of his brake pads. The MSPs rear rotors are actually larger than the fronts. That makes for bad juju when you replace them with a set where the rear rotors are smaller than the fronts. The position of the caliper actually forces the pads down onto the outer edge of the rotor. Ouch!

Wait, whats the front rotor size on a stock ES/P5? 10.9" ?

I saw the price for the KVR's and thats why i posted this...:)

I could be completely off on that. Obviously a P5 owner could tell you more, but yeah I believe they are the same size. Sounds like it's your front rotors that are causing you the problem, so this might just be the ticket for ya. :)

Please trust me when I say you do NOT want ANYTHING to do with anything EBC. I am not just saying this because I work for Carbotech. Their stuff is so bad, it's dangerous. I have first hand experience with their product. I vaporized a set in 13 laps at VIR. To. The. Plate. 13 laps. Took a call today from a guy that burned completely through a set in 9 laps. On a 2400lb Civic.

Not to threadjack, but if most of the braking is done by the front brakes, why are the rear rotors bigger?!
