Recently purchased my MSP and wanted to say hey to everyone here! I'm loving it and this forum is a super helpful place to hang out. See ya on the street.

The NC crownd is not as strong as it used to be, but several of us are still around. Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks for the replies guys. I may have some tech questions from time to time, but for now I'm just going through the car from nose to tail looking for anything that needs attention. The previous owner apparently had no idea how to do anything other than oil changes and tire rotations. He did keep the body pretty ding free though.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get back into auto-x soon now that I have the MSP. I did it for awhile many years ago when I was a single, college kid. I would like to get my wife out in the cones so she can learn to REALLY drive. She would probably like it!?!? (no)

Welcome! Glad you found us over at CarolinaMazdas.com! Hey, your wife/gf didn't happen to be driving that car through the Clayton/Garner area this morning, did she?

There's not too many around, and that was one listed and sold really fast! So I know you got a FMIC and a turbo timer with that one (they were in the listing pics) - so what other goodies came with it? Was your buying experience good or bad?

It also have a old skool hks blow off valve, ground wire kit, im not sure but one of the techs told me it have a aftermarket WGA, af and boost gauges. thats all i can think of off the top of my head. one thing i dont like is the exhuast, they took off the ms exhaust and put some cheap ass exhaust on it. the experience was ok i had to talk them down in price.

im having this stalling issue when coming to a stop. can you give me some ideas of what that could be. thanks

Well, it could be a number of things, and pictures/videos would help a lot. If you can, take a video with a digi cam similar to this one that shows how all you vac. lines are plumbed as well as your FMIC/Intake pipes. It doesn't have to be a super, up-close look at everything, but more of an overview of how they set it up. You may have had a Dipshit Previous Owner that just hacked into vac. lines like my MSP was when I bought it.

Things to check:
All of your intercooler clamps to make sure they're tight!
Vacuum lines could be old or leaking. Vac. leaks are the most common cause of idle issues.
Run some seafoam through the intake and gas tank. This will take off most carbon buildup anywhere.
Check your spark plugs condition (gap should 0.030 to 0.032) and PCV valve for clogs.
Since you have a FMIC, then you probably have the MAF sensor relocated... If it's not relocated, then relocate it :)

BTW, do you have a combo vac./boost guage? If so, what is your vac. reading at idle? What is you AF reading at idle?

Also, in this video I am shooting my vacuum manifold I made that is placed inline on the brake booster line. This made a good improvement in my BOV and WGA performance.
Search this forum over and over again. There is a lot of good information here. Sorry for the long read, but I think we can fix this and those dumbasses at Millenium should have addressed these issues before you left the lot.

Yep, that MAF needs to be relocated. I see a number of things that could be improved on your vac. lines as well. Do an advanced search (in just this forum) for "MAF relocation" and "air manifold". This will show you how to relocate the MAF to the charge side of the turbo and and tap into the brake booster line for all your vac. line needs. Also, check out this website too:

There is a guy on there named Drew (aka WolfpackMSP) that I have been meaning to get together with for awhile. He lives in Hillsborough and drives a silver MSP. Maybe we can all get together and fix your idle issues?

HTH!

we can do that ASAP! but, mean while ill look up the MAF relocation, air manifold. thank you and everybody else for all of your help

It looks like you have a boost controller on your wastegate vac. line. What are you boostin' on your guage?
