Hey just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Frank and I live in Westchester, NY. I own a 2003 protege5 silver automatic. I have owned the car for almost a year now and have just started to try and mod the car. i will def be posting a good amount on here due to the fact that i am originally an american muscle car man, and originally got the p5 as a family friendly car because i still have my true baby as my weekend car (its an 89 mustang gt). but alas the mod bug got me with the mazda and i couldnt help myself. I am probably gonna do mostly cosmetic stuff but a few performance upgrades are not out of the question. I just got it tinted and put in piaa extreme white plus bulbs for the high and low beams still have to put them in the fogs, i ran out of daylight before i could take on that task.
I have a few questions right off the bat for anyone that may be able to help me.
1. last week i lost my power steering, the car made a small squeak of a belt noise 2 days before it happened. i checked the fluid and it is full and the belt doesnt seem to be loose. could it be the pump? or any other suggestions as to what it may be.
2. i have used the piaa extreme white bulbs before and have been very happy with the light they throw, but it hasnt seem to have had the same effect on my p5. i originally wanted to replace the bulbs because i could drive around with the brights on and no one would notice, forget about the low beams it was like driving in the dark. the lens are nice and clear no fogging so its not that. it appears as though they are pointing straight down and i have a feeling that may be the issue so there any way to adjust the level/height of the lights
3. i went to get in my car yesterday morning and it wont start, parked it the night before and it was fine. i originally thought oaky maybe i left and interior light and the battery is dead, it wont jump or even turn over. any ideas as to where i should start looking?
4. i want to replace most of the other lighting with led bulbs i saw the license plate bulbs listed as a 3652 i think and i cant seem to find that bulb size anywhere even if looking for a non led bulb is there a different bulb size that will work?
