new cx-7 ordering?

hey guys, quick question, about how long does it take for the ordering process. ive been looking for an electric blue cx-7 awd with the tech pkg, remote start, preferred pkg, sirius, and compass/auto-dim mirror with homelink.

didnt want to resort to ordering but ive searched inventory from across the country and couldnt find an exact match. so if i ordered it from the dealer, how long does it take for it to come in.

if you ordered start to finish it may take up to 4 months...

if theres a car scheduled to be built, sometimes we can go and change specs and might be able to take a month off of the build time..

EDIT: MOST of what you are looking for can be installed @ the dealer as they are dealer/port installed accesories... I might have perfect luck finding what you are looking for. Like I said if you want me to do some digging let me know

Dealer trades will likey occur to get what you want but price negotiations will be less as the dealer absorbs cost on going out to find what you want, better to keep checking dealers in stock inventory around you, hell theres like 30 sitting right by my house there no shortage here by far

It usually takes 3-4 months tops. I ordered my RX 8 exactly the way I wanted and it took about 3 1/2 months. But it's best to call a dealer...they also know what is coming in the next few months so they may have a close match for you. If they have a close match some of the items they can install for you right at the dealership. Good luck...blue is awesome!

When I ordered mine on Oct 21 '06 I was told 41 days + 10 days to get it after it left the plant in Japan.

Well Guess what. Yesterday was 4 months and still no Cx-7.
It was delayed by being ordered without a customer name : that cost a month,
Then the Dealership was sold to a diffrent owner which caused a Stop delievery.
I find out it was ordered with a tow hitch, which BTW i didn't order. That caused it to set at the port for another month. Hitch just showed up Yesterday. The hitch was backordered for 3 weeks.

For the cost and features the Cx-7 offers we are impressed with it.
The customer handling and dealership service can goto.... well you know where.

well... it seems as though you were unfortunately lied to from the beginning (which makes sense when you figure the dealer was sold).

General Que status about 2 months and about 2 weeks, give or take some days. then the order is locked, vehicle is assembled a week later (at this point its been nearly 3 months) then it takes roughly 4 weeks by boat and another week @ port. for a total time of 4 months give or take 2 weeks (unless otherwise held up.)

the only way possible for them to get you a 41 day build time (which is possible, just not possible) is to change an already existing order to the specs... it sounds like they tried to do it, and it was rejected (which happens if its too late and you try to change it) and they switched to another vehicle (that being the delay of an extra month fpr "not having a customer name"). There is no express build for vehicles with customer names attached vs. those without, its in a que system in order to how they were ordered with no regard to trim, color, or how/who they were ordered for.

The rest is dealership error. If it was ordered with a tow hitch, and they KNEW about the holdup (for the part being on backorder) they can call the Port representative and CANCEL the tow hitch order and have the vehicle sent without it. As long as an item hasnt been installed, you can cancel the item installation.

Sorry to hear about your luck. I would recommend not using that dealership again for purchasing a vehicle (atleast not for ordering). It sounds like you were not only lied to, but whoever what incharge of ordering the vehicles sounds like they werent sure of what they were doing.
