New Bose Stereo Problems

If your volume doesn't practically double from 34 to 35, you're in good shape.

Slight volume adjustments are merely just a figment of your imagination, other than the obvious fact that the volume is supposed to go up when you raise the volume, regardless of it being 10-11, or 34-35.

But don't worry, it's typical, product of forum browsing and searching for issues.

Ours wasn't so much the volume but the quality of sound. When you hit the 34/35 mark the bottom would fall out and the treble would almost make your ears bleed. If you're not seeing any change in quality of sound and the bass is still there you should be good to go. It's a noticable change.

I saw a similar jump in treble with the 34/35 mark but no bottom falling out. The quality just seemed muddy to me (I hope that is not just Bose). The dealer was cool and ordered a new head unit.

SNAP -- mine's bad too; which is I guess a good news bad news story. At 35 the sound and more importantly the sound quality finally shows up; i just figured the BOSE system was not so great. well, I'll call the dealer for an appt. you think they'd check these things.....

New head unit ordered and will hopefully be in this week. Service dude knew what I was talking about, gave it a listen, and wrote it up. They pulled the old unit to get some numbers off it and sent me on my way. Hopefully i'll be rockin' the new unit by Friday.

My HU was replaced yesterday and overall it sounds about 20% better. It is actually louder with 30 sounding very loud and 35 is just painful. There is no more 34-35 vol or treble jump and the sound is more clear across the vol range. As said in previous posts my treble used to be set to +5 but now I keep it at +2 and it sounds great. It took the dealer about 1hr and the install was clean (ie no scratches or damage to the console).

got it replaced today, much crisper sound, but i thought it would be LOUDER. anyone else have to get this things up there to rock out? im usually around the 12 range around town, but jump up to 25 for highway and louder if im jamming, pushing 35-45.

Got mine replaced 2 days ago.....................and its still ****** up! In fact I believe it got worst! Not happy @ all.

Will be calling the dealer today to schedule it to be done again.

Ahhh, that sucks. I gave mine a good check before I left the dealer just in case....

Still waiting for headunit to arrive.

I am curious what the current turn around time on the replacement head unit is presently. I've been waiting approximately a month now and apparently, the head unit has not even left the manufacturers (warehouse, where ever Mazda gets this unit from) yet. This leads me to believe it could still be some time before I get my replacement part. At what point should i start getting angry...

Thanks. I've heard of anything from 1 to 4 weeks wait. My patience is starting to wear thin. Is there anything that the dealer can do to speed up this process or is there anything i can use against them to put pressure on them?

I got mine replaced and all was well until Sirius updated itself and kept losing presets. Brought it in to get fixed and did along with another issue but I just discovered the night of when I picked it up that my CD changer isn't working now! It just says "No Disc" and I know there are other discs in there and it wont let me load any new ones...I guess I will be making trip number 3 for my stereo soon.

agreed, what happened to the good ol' days of the simple early 08 models? id be mad about no mp3 playback if we didnt have a built in aux jack, i just use my zune and jam out on that, so i could care less about mp3 playback.. but my stereo sounds amazing, never had a problem with it. agreed about the white paint, only car i like white on is a lowered scion tc with black or gold rims. :) the all black roof is a good contrast to the white on a scion tc

Update: I brought my car in to get the CD changer looked at due to it not working after they fixed my Sirius satellite having chronic amnesia with the preset stations. They said they ordered me a new unit. This will be stereo number three.

Really Mazda??? I should have expected this with all the problems I had with my MSP's stereo and sub I guess though. Part of me just wants to call them and say forget it and splurge and get a whole aftermarket system but this car is a lease and I'm moving soon so probably not.

Ugh. At least I get free coffee there all the time.

On another note Wayne Mazda also has Hyundai upstairs and I saw the new Genesis Coupe and I kinda wish I waited and got that instead.
