I'll bet it's just a High Pass Filter that's programmed to limit bass after a certain volume.
The way I see it: If Mazda is smart enough to limit Torque in 1st and 2nd gears on MS3's, and they're smart enough to program a throttle plate adjustment after 5500 rpms to prevent damage to the engine, then theres probably a good chance they cock-blocked you from blasting your "Bose" system to it's potential and possibly blow the speakers.
In the end, it'll only save them money on Warranty replacements.

Agree.
Sorry I'm grouchy today and took a cheap shot at Bose. The system they dreamed up for our cars really is poorly thought out and sounds mostly terrible. I have heard some reasonably good car systems from Bose but this isn't one of them.
This stereo is the worst one I've ever had in a car...
my dealership said that my car is the only one that does this....wtf
Went to mine and complained about my problem. They said the same to me.
...the main reason I wanted the GT was the stereo so I wouldn't have to **** the dash and put in all aftermarket s*** to make it sound good, but if they don't fix it, looks like I will still have to(puke).
Agree. You would think you get what you pay for?
Count one more 08.5 with the 34 to 35 problem. I have owned the car for a week and it already has problems. People used to rag on my Dodge's but they never had a single problem. I'll be visiting the dealer tomorrow.QUOTE]
Still don't regret owning this car
After page 12 of reading on this, I decided that's enough. I have a 2007 and haven't had the 32/35 change in bass or whatever it is... My bass just always sounds like crap! Don't know if that's another common problem.
Sounds like the sub always rattles. Not always when radio is loud. Not when quiet either. Normal volume. Any fixes for that?
