New 2003 P5 owner

Glad you decided to join our little community. You're gonna like it here.

A word of caution: say goodbye to the contents of your wallet. I, for example, was initially just going to get an Ebay intake and then be done with it. :D

my sister has a silver sedan. it always looks clean and she never washed it....i have to wash my black P5 twice a week to keep it clean. when it is clean, it looks great though.

welcome to the board and start modding.......

Congrats! You'll enjoy it until your synchros decide to not work anymore...then you'll start to second guess your purchase. My second gear synchro is starting to go, or at least it doesn't want to engage second gear, and I'm really starting to wonder how long this car will last.

For the record: purchased in Sept. 03, currently has 9300 miles on it, and I have installed a K&N panel filter, Mobil 1 engine oil, and Redline transmission oil (75W90 NS). Goes into the dealer on Friday...I'm sure they won't be able to duplicate my problems.

That is nowhere near enough mileage to wear out the synchros. I would drain out the Redline fluid and replace it with OEM fluid to see if your synchros come back. Certain Redline fluids are made for limited slip and can have a weird effect on your gears.

I agree. i have heard nothing but bad things with the redline fluid...especially for these cars.
