2017~2025 Strut information

I am planning on replacing the struts on my 2017 CX-5 and am running into conflicting information on the interwebs.

Is there a difference between 2016 & 2017 struts?

Per Mazda there is and per KYB there is.

But partsgeek (the only place I can find the Excel G's at a reasonable price) states there is no difference between the 2017 & 2018 struts.

partsgeek believes KYB part #'s 339336 & 339337 will work on my 2017.

If anyone has any guidance I'd really appreciate it, and if I'm duplicating a thread please forgive me.

The mounts certainly could be different but the strut cartridge might be interchangeable.

Yes, there is a difference between Gen 1 (2016) and Gen 2 (2017).

Yes, there is a difference between Gen 1 (2016) and Gen 2 (2017).

I can't find 2017 KYB Excel G's anywhere.... only the 2016's.
