NEMOC Random BS Thread

Yeah, well I was expecting a certain amount of work to be required...so a portion of the problems were to be expected given the age of the vehicle and the asking price. This was just too much work. I'd prolly drive the thing for a year then end up selling it for less than I put into it so I could build a real show car. Better to cut my losses now...but I guess the good news is I still have the rotary bug. I just have to wait for the right project.

I'll keep my eyes out for a nice RX7.. Someone in my town was selling a very nice 1st gen not too long ago.. I wonder if I'll see it for sale again in the spring.

I been hiding with my 350z project and so far i'm half way done... Though i share some pics :)

that stinks. I was kind of hoping that the truck would be in nice enough shape for you to have fun with.

the problem is I don't think that you will be able to find a REPU out here on the east coast that doesn't have holes in the floorpan.

There's a solid one in Lancaster, PA for about $4k. Spotless. I've been trying to save my pennies.

Morning all, got an unexpected day off as our son is sick....think he has a touch of the flu bug.

Good to hear Bruce and nice find on that ssp Chris. Hopefully Chris H. can use that to his advantage.

Yeah I hope so... I have been over 70k since early last year so I am out, but I hope Chris H. can get something from it.

Yeah, you would think that when he had the car in they would have come across this in the system....time to be the squeaky wheel.

Oh yeah, Ben, the Z is looking good man!

wow ben! car looks great! that red is RED for sure! looks like christo's parking area on the east side?

morning all! jeff, hope your son is felling better (he's my pats fan friend you know!) ;)

got a new roof on the homestead sat. looks great! the work continues:
1. clean out closets
2. clean out attic
3. clean out basement
4. clean out garage
5. clean out shed
6. clean out mom's apartment/attic
7. paint family roof ceiling
8. replace rotted trim boards
9. replace kitchen crank out window
10. repair replace clapboards
11. paint/stain trim and siding
12. drink a cold one!

LOL. Wow.

Morning NEPOC!

Mahk, thanks for reminding me. I need to update the fuelly for the Civic.

my mileage keeps inching up? i don't get it? i have been in less bumper to bumper traffic over the last few weeks? it goes up 1 or 2 tenths every fill up?

it has been a bit warmer, so your mileage probably bumped up a few ticks.

Anyone around this week want to get a beer? I'm up at the mothership in Mass all week.

I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day except I'm stuck on Sunday....home again with the boy as he wasn't 100%. He was still running a fever last night and has been in the bathroom a few times this morning as well.

Thanks Mark, I'll be sure to tell him!

Well, Illbedamned...time to trade the P5 in for an RX8...what was I thinking looking at the 2's for good fuel economy. lol Maybe, due to a partial fill-up that was entered as a normal fill-up?

Mine has been pretty steady but with gas prices creeping up I'd like to see my numbers up where Mark is at....time for boost? haha

If I had known that the skyactiv 3 hatch would hit nearly 40mpg, I would be driving that instead of my fit.

I like my fit, but I'd rather have the 3 hatch.

Can't this week. I'm in the office today but I'll be home tomorrow because of the storm. Thursday I'm flying out to Utah for some skiing.

I've still got the REPU bug so I emailed a guy that is selling a pristine truck in California. Frame off restoration with $25k invested. Brand new 13b 4-port motor (not rebuilt...actually brand new) with only 500 miles on it. Fresh chrome on every nut and bolt. Interior done up nice. Exterior painted red/orange. He's looking to get 16-18k for it. Sounds like a good deal...but.... I'd just be the keeper of the flame. It basically needs nothing so I could drive it to shows and stuff but its not like I would be showcasing any of my hard work. I've been going back and forth with him and he's got a lot of NOS (new old stock) parts on it including a entirely new bed. That's the kind of investment that truck in CT needs...along with a 13b 4-port engine that are virtually impossible to find. It's kind of like buying a puzzle for $5 or buying a framed poster of the same photo for $20. They both have the same end result, but you can at least point at the puzzle and say "i made that". What to do?
