NEMOC Random BS Thread

For the calipers, yeah you can but it might not last too long. It depends on the coat underneath really.

As for the rock chips... I have two in my windshield. Only one has turned into a full on crack and that was from the chip I got a week and a half ago. The other was received at the first OCC meet I went to over a year ago.

The best bet is to try and determine if the chip/crack is all the way through the windshield or just a surface chip. The first being the worst while the second is ok, but just and annoyance.

well the caliper paint under it was the autozone from last year, there's it's pretty clean, if it is clean paint will it work, I bought the $110 G2 paint so I don't want it to come off any time soon, but would I be able to use those paint remover wheel, but ya the previous paint is in good condition and I should be able to clean it off really well, and I might even make some small scratches or indentations or something to give the new paint something to grip onto

and ya the chip in the glass is all the way through, so I guess I'll just call progressive sometime soon or something

Morning all! Power was out for me most of last night so I went to bed wiiiicked early lol. And I'm already at work!

I spent $5 on my caliper paint. Lasts for years. Trust me, I too have used the G2 paint on other cars in the past and it's way overpriced. Many people don't believe me but I say just look at my calipers. :)

??? What G2 paint is $110? 35-40 tops.

Morning all. Was up at 5 today getting my youngest on a bus to the airport. Going to be a long day.
ya I know that's for the normal paint, I wanted to get spicy orange paint, but they can't do a tricoat paint, but I got something that is close, it's called Sunset Orange Metallic which is paint match to one of the SS cars that they have on their gallery, and the color match kits are $110 shipped, the normal ones are $50 about

ya I know, I had the autozone paint for like $30 or something and it looks and works great, but I can't get anything close to spicy metallic orange caliper paint unless it's ordered like that, but that's why I want to make sure that if I just paint over the red paint I have on now once I clean the caliper paint on it now really well, so the new paint won't fall off completely in a year or so, with out needing to take the calipers off or use a wire wheel to take the old paint off first completely unless the new paint will most likely fall off unless I do so...and I plan on doing it this weekend, so wanted to get things set on what I should do..

but anyways, LOVE this weather.. summer's almost here!

What I did was buy a small can of Diamond Hard red paint then added in OEM VR paint from a touch up bottle. Works perfect!

quick question, do any of you have Progressive, and have delt with windshield chips? I have a small chip, maybe 2 I don't remember, but I am pretty sure it's just 1, but anyways will they cover to fix that, or do I have to wait till I get a full fledged crack, and yes i have full glass coverage.
I know I can ask progressive but subspeed6's post just reminded me of it, and I'm in the middle of an essay right now, that I once again procrastinated till the last day to do it lol.. but just curious if anyone has had any experience with it
All I can say is that you should always insist upon factory OEM glass for the windshield. Every time I get in my parents cars it drives me nuts. There are ripples in the glass that gives me a headache. They did not request factory glass. My father's truck is even worse because the windshield wipers don't track right. They don't make contact on the far passenger side.
