NEMOC Random BS Thread

That's why I love the out of town races. I get away from things going on in Ohio, and the only time I feel like I can truly relax. Even tho we're normally running around like crazy, it's still relaxing to me. But, it's never actually time to myself. One of these weekends I may disappear and only tell a few people where I am (in case of emergency) and just truly get away.

I hit that point a while ago. I used to try and find every car meet possible, but now I just attend the NEPOC get togethers a few times a year, and the occasional Grand Am race/corral. I mean, when I was single and 20-21 I was really into it, but now at 28 with a house, a wife, dog etc, there are other things I need to be doing.
Yup, exactly...except I was never single and 21. Amanda and I have been together for over 13 years now, married for 6! It's a good thing she likes cars, and bikes, and stereos, and pets, and music, and beer!

I'm at the same point. I'm focused a lot on cycling, and I drive my car once a week if I'm lucky. Right now I don't have much interest in doing anything to it unless somethings broken (gotta replace the starter at some point). Got a house to fix, a wedding to plan and some races to win.
Focused on cycling? You? No way? LOL! You make me feel guilty every time you post your rides on FaceBook...except the days I actually get out and ride. I was going 3 days a week in the fall but have fallen off the bandwagon a bit.

Speaking of things to do. I'm not certain I'm attending any of these, but if I don't have anything else to do, and others are interested...

May 5th - NHMS - 24 Hours of Lemons
May 12th - NHMS - Vintage Racing Celebration
May 27th - Anheuser-Busch Merrimack - Corvette Spring Fling Car Show (plus you can tour the brewery)

Yeah.. Single is kind of a misleading term for me. My story is similar to yours. I've been with Jessica since 2002, and we got married in 2008, so I didn't really have a crazy single era either. We purchased our house in 2006, and that toned down my car meet involvement. When we were renting an apartment and still fresh out of college, I had loads more time to go out to meets. These days it is either doing something with the dog or fixing up the house that takes up most of my time.

I wouldn't trade it for anything though. Life is good :D

Well, that doesn't make for a good horror movie scene if people know where you are. lol As the others said, make time for yourself to get away from all the craziness. A nice drive on the backroads with no destination or even a bike ride to clear your head.

:P I ride 6 days a week at this point.

Geez, I feel a bit on the lazy side now. lol My excuse is the seat hurts my bum and I've just been too lazy to look into a new seat.
