i'm looking into buying one for my wife and found one on craigslist...i met up with the guy last weekend and i took the car out for a test drive...runs good, looks very nice. comes with aem intake, header and tanabe exhaust set up...lowered and with wheels. the cel was on and he said something about being a bad o2 sensor, my guess is it's his aftermarket header causing it. seller said it's his wifes but they divorced and wife drives a scion so it just sits in the garage. the plastic center piece for the radio also is missing and he said he'll replace it. it's 8300 but i offered 7800 for it and it has 58k on it. is it a decent deal? i told him i'll buy the car as long as he fixes the cel and the center dash piece.here are some pics...

I loved that car, it is an auto though. The headers did probably throw the CEL. See if he still has the stock parts that he can throw in on the deal and then anything below $8G is a good price. That red will make you stare at it and fall in love. Good luck because they are great cars.

It's a nice car, but I will just say this from someone who has modded their p5...you don't normally do a header, exhaust and intake so you can drive it gently. It may have been driven hard, so just keep that in mind. The miles are great though. Also, if you're considering it for the wife, I would take it out at highway speeds and see how loud the exhaust is and if it drones. She may not like that. Good luck!

Looks nice! Well, except for the taillights, eek!

Probably needs the CEL eliminator trick done (did it to my car since I have a plugged cat)...

Take it to a shop if your worried about anything (lowering job, etc), they might charge you $50, but for peace of mind, $50 is cheap!

not a fan of the automatic, but if you aren't looking to make serious power thats not a real issue

Not a fan of the sedan head lamps(if you do buy it ask if he has the original P5 headlights) or the fact that it is an automatic. But I would say go for it if you don't mind the auto trans. Looks very clean and yest that is a good price if it does not have a ton of miles on it.

If it was manual, I would try to snatch it up before you could! Hahaha j/k man. Sounds like a good buy. I ditto what everyone else said about the CEL, being driven hard, and the fact that the sedan headlamps belong in the sedans. Heh. Best of luck on your decision.

thanks guys..i didn't even know about the headlights until you fellas mentioned it..he doesn't have any of the stock parts anymore. maybe i can get 'em on ebay or craigslist.

personally, I'd look for another one that is closer to stock. There's a reason he is selling it. I don't see that being the wifes car
