need help with headlight bulbs

there is a rubber boot that covers the bulb. Its simply for condensation purposes. Pull that off (after you disconnect the harness ofcourse). Then you'll see a weird looking square-like metal pin, which hold the bulb in place. I think you have to push down on it and pull it out (its on a swivel) and then bulb will come loose.

I have an 02 MP5. My low beam bulbs keep burnin out. Remove the harness, boot, the swingy little metal needs to opened, possibly the adapter( first time I threw it away thinking it was part of the bulb, Don't get Silverstars, buy almost anything else. Align the notch and replace the parts you took out. Turn on and enjoy. High beams are easy plug and play.

Any tips on pulling out the harness? The Manual says just pull it out..but with any more force I think I'm going to damage something. Or take out a bit of flesh with the Coolant and Washer Resevoir

just pull as hard as you can. You wont damage anything. Thats the only way to get the harness off. (thumb)

yea they are stuck on there pretty good...just pull you wont hurt anything..just be sure to pull on the harness and not the wires!

make sure you are depressing the clips when pulling tho, my mechanic didnt do that and cracked the plastic of the headlight housing

it has clips on the headlight one?
i thought it was just because it was a tight fit...i havnt broken anything..maybe i just got lucky and pushed it in? who knows.

Theres a clip? Under the rubber boot? Or on the harness plug itself. I don't even feel a clip...

update: got my mtecs in. The only thing that was a pain was pulling the harness. Actually I just pulled the rubber boot out so it folds out wards, uncliped clip holding the bulb and used a flathead screwdriver to pry it from the harness. The sucker was stuck on so bad...

ha ok well glad it worked out... but yeah my harness had a clip on either side of it that kept getting stuck... if it wasnt raining id take a pic of the broken housing, but yeah he actually pulled so hard that the plastic broke around the edge of the hole
