Alright, I finally got my system installed after having the P5 for two months. It's hits hard but isn't done yet. Here's what I have so far...

2x Infinity 12" 1230w Subs - $230 w/Box
-1200 Watts Max / 300 Watts RMS Each
infinityreference1230w.gif

Audiobahn A12005DN Class D Mono AMP - $180
-600 Watts RMSx1 @ 2 OHMS
A12005DN.jpg

Generic AMP Wiring Kit - $45
-4 Gauge
Line Out Converter - $27
Installation - $88

Not bad for only $570 :)

Nice combo. However, that's alot of bass for the stock speakers to keep up with. You may want to consider a set of 100w speakers and a 2x100w amplifier to balance things out a little bit.

Post pictures of the equipment installed!

I was going to take some pics but it was too cold outside. lol I'll try and get some tomorrow. I think I might get new speakers tomorrow. Any suggestion on an amp or speakers? I'd like to get them from just Best Buy or Circuit City but I'm open for anything.

the 06 or 05 pioneers are good what type of deck do you have? cause i would go with what ever type of deck brand you have. i like the subs

you should get a four channle amp for your front speakers. i would recomend audiobahn but any thing you find at Best buy is good and buy that waranty because it becomes usefull. i have blown my alpines and they replaced them for free.

umm, NONONONONONONONO...

audiobahn is shiny and neat-o looking. If that, or asthetic appeal of matching amps matters to you, then they're not entirely horrible, but you can do better. They're kinda like the civics of the audio world, EVERYONE has them and thinks they're the greates thing ever, and they're all blingin' cali-cool, but whenit comes down to it they're econoboxes.

As far as speakers, go out and listen to a couple. or a bunch depending on your timeline. 5x7/6x8's will fit drop-in friendly. or you can make 5-1/4's or 6-1/2's fit without toomuch hassle. A 4ch amp isn't really necessary unless you really want to make your car sound worse and do rear speakers. I'd jsut stick to a decent 2x50-100w amp, and a nice pair of front speakers. I could shoot you links to placed to buy them, but firstoff, that's what MY ears like and not necc yours, also, online scamshops aren't exactly the best way to fly.

Also, bestbuy is NOT a goodplace to buy things. Why pay extra for warranty service that you should get free in the first place?

I know, I bought them because they were cheaper than the rest but are good enough for me. I'm pretty limited on money so they seemed like the best bang for the buck.

dollar per watt, Audiobahn is a good deal...if watts are what you want and dollars are what you have little of. Sure you don't see sports car enthusiasts driving around in Honda Civics but there are plenty of people who are happy with them. If you're not an audiophile it probably means Audiobahn is a great deal for you.

I like the whole matching amps thing, especially if you plan installing them in a visually pleasing mannor. But Posuer is right, you can probably find a better amp for the same price that simply puts out less power but better sound quality.

Example:
http://www.cardomain.com/item/ABNA2002T 2x50 watts for $89.
http://www.cardomain.com/item/KIC04KX1002 2x35 watts for $102.

Both of these amps are dirt cheap. Comparing dollar per watt the Audiobahn is an obvious choice. However, if you were to connect both to a set of nice speakers I'm willing to bet the Kicker amp will sound cleaner from 100Hz up while the Audiobahn will give a little more kick from 60Hz-100Hz. If you were powering a subwoofer the extra power from the Audiobahn might be more useful but not for speakers.

In the same price range is this amp:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NRNBtsdSnkr/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=236T282
2x70 watts for $100.
MTX is another great bargain brand. They've been around longer than Audiobahn and this particular amp has been slowly perfected over the course of about 5 years. The sound quality is average, better than the Audiobahn but prolly not as clean as the Kicker.

I like pioneer amps, I was going to sell my 2 channel but after poseurs post I'm going to take it off the F/S thread and hook it up to my new front speakers.

damn that's a big box. you should build your own that doesn't take up quite so much space.

Yea I'm thinking of making a fiberglass box in the summer. Well not me but I'll let my dad do it since he knows how. lol

for future reference, mounting the amp to the sub-box is generally a bad Idea. If someone opens your hatch, one good yank and they get the whole thing... def post pics of the glass when you get it done....

I like Xtant for my mids&highs

We just had 3 car's broken in to at my school on Tuesday so I was just thinking about that. I guess I'm just going to put it on the back of the seat. It seems like there's not a whole lot of other places to put it. Any other ideas? Thanks for the link, I'll check out the Xtant amps.
