My New seats are in

Which issue of SCC was the seat review in? That's my biggest concern is getting a seat that fits me that was designed to hold someone bigger then a skinny asian dude. I am 6ft 1 230lbs, not the smallest guy in the world.

Very easy install just bolts together and then in the stock locations. did the 2 seats in 30 mins or so 2 of us working together.

These won't fit a antisubmarine strap so you can only use a 4point. but if you like your testicles you won'twear a antisubmarine strap unless it is required for your class.

as far as the torinos go i was told by everyone i contacted that sparco doesn't have a bracket for us.

december 2003 is the one i checked but they do them every year. these seats will be to small for you. if you have a specific seat in mind i would be glad to look it up for you.

I hate my testicles. Isn't an anti-sub belt a safety thing? I thought they were pretty useful. Do most seats not support anti-sub belts? I kinda thought it was a standard thing, but I guess not. Does corbeau offer a seat that would support a 5 point harness? Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to get as much info as possible before I buy anything.

yeh im a heaft guy also...but the mistu evo stock seats fit me like a glove.....i think im gonna grab up a seat....thanks for the pics and info..they look awesome

it is the belt that comes up from the floor between your legs up to the buckle, very rare in anything but a purpos built racecar, they are used to keep you from sliding out of your seat if you say put it head on into the wall. hurts you balls if you use it but its better than broken hips. even when i was a bondurant for race school they didn't have them in there cobras but all circle track cars do. for a seat to be used with on they have a slot for the belt to pas through between your legs. all you need is a properly installed 4 point and you probably won't like driving with it. it s hard to get used to being held back in your seats like that. and don't use them on the street.

if your waiste is more than 34 inches they may seem tight. these don't seem any tighter than the recaros but they are tighter than the recaro's in the sti or the seats in the rx-8

Cool, thanks for the info. Did you ever consider the CR1? I'm debating between that and the TRS now.

I think I'll use the Scrothe Rallye 4 4 point harness with the seat. It mounts into stock locations, so you don't need a bar or anything. Thanks for all of the info, this is a great thread.

i did look at those but unless your waist is 34 inches or more scc said they are loose. the A4 got better raitings. the scrothes are good for auto-x just don't crash in them or you could get spinal compresion and be trying to rig coilovers onto your wheel chair for next years season.

Errr, any details on the harness = death thing? I thought they were the only DOT approved harness lol. Thanks.

its fine to use them on the auto-x but on the street use your stock belt. when they come out of the cak of the seat they go down towards the floor too much the angle is so that in a crash your shoulders are pulled down and your spine could compress and break itself. i know guys from the bmw club who use them for auto cross but they won't pass inspection for a track day atleast they shouldn't.

I think I just found my next mod.

I've been trying to decide between the TRS and the Sparco Torinos. And now you just made my decision much easier. I was totally unaware about the Sparco sliding bracket problems with our rides.

sup man, nice seats. i got a4's.
i had a question about your passenger seat though
does the right side of the seat rub on your pillar? because mine does and boy is it annoying (since the leather of the chair is hitting the plastic of the pillar, it makes a squeaking sound)?

thanks! - chris

I just found these on the Mazdaspeed of Japan site & I really like them, but I also like the Recaros because they match the 03.5 interior:
