Seriously? That's one tall first gear. Might as well make it taller so you don't have to shift doing the quarter mile.

Nice bike though. Love the look of the thing, but can't decide on the exhaust, like the concept, but don't necessarily like the execution of it. I guess I'm still a Kawi fan, but that bike (and the R1) are beautiful.

R1's aren't that fast man..its just a 900cc in a 600 frame..they are quick..but they aren't like amazingly fast...i swamp that bike, i can barely fit on it..the gixxer still pwns you.

My friend has a new R1 and he races it frequently. So far he hasn't been beat. Sorry to break it to ya, but it is amazingly fast. He had an R6 last year and says it doesn't compare. The R1 can pull wheelies in any gear, at any time with a blip of the throttle. Not even a clutch pop is needed. Go look at the new ones, then get back to me.

He's right there, Spicy...new R1's are nothing short of badass.

180hp throught a tiny tire in the back...probably to make it more driveable off the line or else the nose would always be in the air. Nothing a sproket can't fix.
