my kit is ALMOST done...

it's not manual... it's electronic... blitz s-sbc... the one i showed matthew in some other thread... it's fairly simple to install... it just doesn't have a digital read out and i haven't been able to find any documentation on it over the internet so i don't know what it's limits are (lowest boost setting... highest boost setting) i'm going to have to push buttons and play around with it. i'm about 99.9% sure it's installed right... but i still want to be sure (cation will keep my car from blowing up) hehehe

Ok,

The lowest the boost can go is when the wastegete actuator would open without the EBoost Controller.

It can't change the spring in the wastegete, but it makes an air leak in the signal line to keep it closed longer...more boost...the air leak is sized depending on how the Eboost is configured.

Did you check for kinks...
Was 10 PSI where it stopped (MAX BOOST) or is that where you let off...

10psi was the most i saw in 1st and 2nd gear pulls...

and that's actually why i'm worried... because i have the boost controller at it's lowest setting... and i've got a 7lb spring... could the boost controller's actual lowest setting be 10psi? or should i check all the vaccum / boost hoses? also... their are two spots on the tial for vaccum... one (on the bottom) was in the instructions as the vaccum source ( received from the intake manifold ) the other from the boost controller (if i was to use one) so that's how i set it up... since my gauge saw 10lb... and the spring is 7 then i'm sure it's setup right... but i'm just concerned that 10lbs is a rather high setting for a boost controller's minimum...

the bost controller has a setting where i can tell it to work with an actuator or a wastegate... if i set it to actuator and place it on the fitting for vaccum ( the bottom one on the wastegate ) then it should work as well... gonna try a few things out when i get home... i love trouble shooting...

are you positive you have the 7lb spring? mixups do happen.... or did you pull it to verify the color?

Disconnect the Boost controller. You don't need it for a month or so, verify the spring and run a direct line to the actuator...

no i didn't pull it... although a mixup is possible... i'm going to turn off my boost controller when i get home... and see if i'm still hitting 10lbs...

if that is the case... doesn't 10lbs seem high to be the lowest setting on a boost controller... it may also be the vacum line is too long? or may be t'ed off too much (although that shouldn't make that big of a difference)...

i need to get my profec-b :-)

well it wont matter what boost controller you get if you have a 10 lb spring, the minimum boost will still be 10psi

that's the point... what if the spring is a 7lb spring... isn't 10 lbs too high for the minimum setting on a boost controller?

well well well... we have another boosted protege...

today was the official first thirty miles of my boosted protege...

i turned off the boost controller... and my gauge was telling me 10lbs in 1st 2nd and 3rd... and about 9.5 in 4th and 5th... let me tell you something... i think 4th gear is AWESOME!!! (this is the first turbo car i've owned... yes i'm a little extatic) the waste gate MUST have a 10 lb spring... i'm gonna take it apart and find out though...

slutch slips ... it's controllable though... i just can't mash the gas... i have to ease it in... getting a new clutch very soon... just ogtta research which is best for what i need... i'm buying a wide band o2 tomorow so i can tune this thing better...

thank you to everyone for all the help...

beau (mamotorsports) from Mental Addiction for the awesome prices... (and advice)
brianmp5t for the optimistic "join the zoom zoom boom club" :-) and of coarse the advice...
trbomp5 for the good advice as well...

these guys know their s***...
well... an experience has been had... i now have turbo charged a car... (now biulding this motor is my next proect) built a single cam honda motor already... taken apart the head from a gsr (just didn't put it back together) and a v6 ford... i think i'm ready... :-)

thanks guys

dude, call Beau back up, get one of his SPEC clutches... hands down the best for our cars IMHO

You are more than welcome for the advice. need anymore just ask.

And as far as the "zoom, zoom, BOOM" club, Ive been on stock internals and 10psi for about 2 mos now. And well........ i guess i'm just a risk taker.

i also have an automatic, so i can only get on the boost good when i kick off the OD and mash it. I never really get on it at first off the line because i have to let off the gas when it shifts or BOOM, there goes the tranny.

I will be doing the manual swap next. I will post all about it

well... got a cel... (i think its egr though...) since my egr tube is not plugged...

gonna check it out this weekend... got a snapon scanner at my future father in law's shop...

damn these small oil leaks... got a SUPER small one... looks like its from the fitting on the oil-return hose... (by the oil pan) it's not the oil pan 'cause if it was the drip would have run down the pan...

well not something too huge ... i'm not loosing oil pressure or anything. going to look at it this week...

i let a friend of mine drive it... (he has a speed shop) he said it definately feels faster then the mazda speeds... (this guy has an rx-7 that just ran a 10.83 at english town last weekend) he definately knows what he is talking about... hehehe

You should come to an MTMA meet, I wanna see this kit. I plan on going with MAM when the time comes for upgrades to my MSP.

what's mtma?

i'de love to go...
i have some small ins and outs to fix up on the car (like putting the interior together again) then i'll be showing it off... but for now... i just take her to work and leave her in the garage... i'de be glad to showcase the kit. it's only part mam... but you can see the majority of the parts mam offers. good quality stuff... and i'm really happy with it...
