my kit is ALMOST done...

thank you trbo and mamotorsports... two verifications is enough to make me swap it... doing that as soon as i get a chance...

will have pics soon... (as soon as i get my new intercooler)!!!

*EDIT*
while i'm at it... i might as well make sure i used the right vacuum... is it ok to tap into the vacuum hose that goes to the stock regulator? or should i just tapp off the brake booster?
*EDIT*

The BEGI is suppose to be used with a regulator.

The BEGI goes after the rail.Return line off the rail to BEGI, then return line off BEGI to return on the firewall.

Where you get your vacuum pretty much doesnt matter. I tried to spread mine around a little as to not get it all from one place. I "T"'d off of a different spot for everything. Boost controller, BOV, BEGI, then the line going into the car to the VC, I "T"'d off of it for the gauge.

Did you buya used BEGI? It should have come with instructions on where to put it and how to tune it in.

The only way on our cars to replace the stock unit is go with the Begi model that is ment for stock turboed cars. Then you'd need a new fuel rail.

I believe hondas dont use a return line that is why they would be B4 the fuel rail.

yup i bought it used... but no biggie... you guys are the shiznit... i'm gonna go buy some hose on monday and set it all up... the stock hoses for the fuel line are reall bad...

ok... here goes...

i finished it tonight... gonna start it tomorow after work... (their is a reason for that which i will get to...)

fixed the fuel... a mechanical error on my part... already fixed... didn't cause nay damage.

the broken bolt... stayed in the head... gonna wait a few hundred miles before i rip the kit apart again to take that out... i figure it will only start leaking in a few hundred miles or so...

my biggest issue (asside from the bolt in the head) was my damn waiste gate... i kept blowing the gaskets out... i'm 100% sure that thing was bolted down properly... their is a ring that goes in the wastegate (35-38mm tial) where it meets the manifold. well i have reason to believe that that ring was not being pushed into the waste gate far enough because it was instead pushing into the gasket. every time i would crack second... the damn gaskets would blow... my only idea was that when i crack second, pressure is released from that ring... since that ring was putting more pressure on the gasket then the rest of the wastegate was... when i lost pressure (from the spring compressing) it left the gasket vulnerable and not as tight to the manifold... hense... blowing the gasket. (thats actually how i figured out that my rrfpr was workjing properly...) the waste gate (on the inside) was charred up with carbon... (this is a good thing, since i haven't tuned my fuel yet... means i'm running rich)

so point is... after talking to beau, he suggested i just slap the wastegate on... with some rtv orange (i used ultra black... withstands more heat) i'm letting it cure over night... i didnt' want to crank it with fear of taosting the silicone. this should work though... cause i was looking at where the wastegate meets the manifold... and that bad boy is in their... we wait for tomorow...

and finally... some pics...
(i know the vacuum and boost line going to the wastegate is tangled... and i will be fixing it tomorow morning before work... along with the antifreeze overflow.)

Well, First off, congrats, Not trying to be negative just I'm worried that it seems that you just rushed the entire install. It's only my opinion, but I don't understand why the front lower is missing. It looks like someone stole it. Your FMIC has no protection and if you plan to street drive this car, that piece is the only thing that will keep it together. There is a basic urge to put a foot through it...

Asside from that, great, you have taken steps to make major HP improvements in your car, not in the 6 or 10 HP but in the 50 to 60 HP Range!

Polish the Cam cover and work on some engine bay stuff if you have the time.

well... since i live in newark, nj... it just so happens someone did steal it...

j/k... actually i removed for a reason... i'm going to be putting some black mesh over it. (darker then the original honey comb plastic) i need to hide the intercooler better "since i live in newark. nj"
i spent about 2 and a half weeks on this thing... i don't think it was rushed... their are just certain things i can't do anything about. for instance... the bolt in the head... i don't have the means of getting it out right now... so i will drive it as is to my girl's father's shop and use the force to make the broken bolt magically extract itself from the head... the wastegate flange... i actually think this downpipe and manifold were designed to not use gaskets for the wastegate. (i may be wrong) but i remember beau saying something about haveing a gasketless design for his downpipe/exhaust manifold. if this was true... it would all make sense... and i would have had this setup running in the first week...

but what do you think about the intercooler? definately an improvement over the starion i was useing before?

much thanks for the help everyone.

Six Months to build the manifold and prepare the car for wiring etc. Mine was not a kit, so it was longer. Just paint the FMIC flat black and put the cover back on...

my setup wasn't really a kit either... asside fromt he manifold and downpipe... everythign else was pretty much custom... got some pipes from beau at mental addiction... i ended up tailoring them to my setup.

man i can't wait to get home and start the car up... hopefully the wastegate will hold up ... no gaskets now... just wastegate / ultrablack sillicone / manifold... it should hold up... (no gasket to blow now...)

what do you think?

if everything runs well and their is no exhaust leak at the wastegate... i will be tuneing tonight.

can't wait.

BPV (recirculating) it's on the chargepipe before the intercooler... and recirulates back to the pipe on the turbo inlet... you still hear that nice woosh... but you hear more wastegate the BOV so it sounds good. (when i'm not blowing waste gate gaskets) lol

a few more hours and i will be turning it on :-)

damnit... no tuning going to be done tonight...

it's freakin raining... i hope it stops soon.. i want to take her out for a spin...

iight!!! guess who got to drive his car today!!!

running a little rich... but rich is better then lean at this point... gonna tune out the fuel tonight... i saw a small oil leak... but it's not coming from the oil pan... didn't have a chance to look at it this morning... but i think it's from the oil return line... (nothing a little teflon tape won't fix)

hey brian...

quick question... what should vacum be at idle on our cars? i just want to make sure my gauge is working correctly... i'm worried about my ssbc... i was seeing 10lbs from the gauge this morning... and i had the boost controller at the lowest setting ( i don't think the lowest setting would be 10 lbs but it is possible... ) tomorow (after i fix that small oil leak) i'm going to try running the car with the boost controller turned off... i should then only see 7 or 8 psi (stock wastegate setting)

20 VAC is normal if the car is warm. (Runing for 2 Min)

Is the mbc in the line from the turbo to the wastegete?
Is the Arrow pointing the corect way?

If not, fix it and let us know...
