Which years/trim levels had Remote Start from factory?

Can anyone tell me if any of the earlier CX-5s had remote start from the factory? I can't find a definitive answer, other than those that require a paid subscription.

Thanks!

From the factory I dont think so
But earlier years ...say 2018 and prior years, Mazda sold genuine oem remote starter (computer box and cables) addon along with a fob to remote start. It was dealer or port of entry installed addon and worked ok.

Nowadays 2022- its Mobile App remote start only if you have the connected services subscription.

For the first generation, there was an option for a dealer-installed, separate fob, remote start. But it was never a standard feature.

I just got notification my free service expires next month...they want $10 per month to continue...I never use it. I do wish they had a remote start like everyone else that was on the FOB..my mother in-law recently had one installed on her 2017 cx5 and it was not too bad price wise..she said it works great..she is in Northern Minnesota so really needs it :)

Yes.Fob one is popular with american brands and some eu ones which sell specific models in US.
The japanese not so much as far as I know.

The early CX-5s didn’t come with factory remote start - only some models got it later, and usually through Mazda Connected Services, which needs a subscription.
