MSP getting some more upgrades!!!

Just started it up for the first time under mpi control. Idle is rough, but we are working on it. Won't be much longer now guys!

Cool deal man, glad you got it started. The other MSP guy that has it on his car, doesn't come on the forum much, so you don't hear from him, but there are others out there. Once you got it setup correct it will probably only take like an hour or so to get it tuned while under boost, if you have someone else driving. If you're alone, then you better learn to multitask.

Thanks Tim, me too.:) Yea, I have never seen Dean on here. I wanted to get some maps from him but he doesn't have the boost module. I will be tuning alone at stock boost so I can learn the software, then I am getting a local tuner to run the computer while I drive. Not safe to "multi-task" at 16psi I imagine, lol.

New Update:

I have played with the software now and can adjust fuel from full lean to full rich on my autometer. My plugs got fouled from playing around with it, lol. I am calling it for the weekend on this project, I have worked on the car every day this week, and I need a little break, (sorry autobox:)). Also, my WBo2 gauge finally came in down at school so I am going back down in my DSM and then taking a vacation to see my gf for the weekend. I will get back on this project next week and install the injectors and fuel pump then.

woot.....keep us updated......if it tunes and holds it im def in line.....

I can't imagine why it would not hold the tune. Maybe for the relearning stage from resetting the PCM, but I even doubt that.

well the mpi is set up like a piggy back right....there was issues with emanage and other piggy backs when the ecu would go to tits stored maps and forget what the piggy back was tellin it....either way i hope it works and i cant wait

Other piggy backs do not work the same as the mpi tuner. After seeing which signals get manipulated, I can tell you that it is different from the emanage and safc.

nice...good to see something is out there....mpi does ignition too right? im first in line :)

man you are such a young guy to be throwin this kinda money at the msp-- sweet!! breakin new ground my man...

Who me?(dunno) Nah, I've only spent about 5k on upgrades, bringing me up to about WRX price. I'm also 24 which isn't that young.(wiggle) Thanks though, haha.

24k into car, 24 yrs old.... imagine how fast it will be when youre 40!?!? -=O

lol, pretty fast probably.

I just got back, good weekend with my gf.:) I need to locate some new plugs since I fouled mine out playing with the tuner. It was just too much fun to make adjustments on the laptop and watch the A/F gauge go from lean to rich, and I got a little carried away, lol. AEM WBo2 is here, and the install will be very easy since I already have a second bung welded on the DP. Just power and ground for the gauge, and then run the wire from the sensor into the car. I will resume tuning after that is all done and new plugs are in.

Bye bye Autometer A/F, hello UEGO WBo2:

I can't believe this, but my exhaust is causing me some more problems.(argh) When magnus put in the wideband sensor bung, they drilled the hole in the piping too small for a sensor to go through. The bung is the proper threading, but I can feel a small lip inside it where it meets the piping that is keeping the sensor from going in. I need to wait for Dave to get here with his dremel so we can bore it out a little, and make the hole big enough for the sensor to go in. The gauge is wired up, and I am almost set, but Dave can't get here for a few hours. I am going to go watch a movie and then resume the project later when he gets here. I'll post again later tonight.

Is it just me or is that gauge huge? It just looks bigger then the rest of the gauges in your pod. Also how is your gauge pod attatched (sp) to the A pillar? Just curious, love the car, everything looks great, cant wait till everything is pollished up.

I wouldn't really say that it is "huge", but the bezel on it IS slightly larger than my autometer gauges. The gauge fit in the opening in the pod without any modification, but the bezel is just thicker. The pillar pod fits over the stock one, and then you drill a few holes through both of them and stick some small rivot type things in the holes. Thanks for the kind words man, I'll post a bunch of pics of the new toys when I get back on the cable modem.;)
