MSP getting some more upgrades!!!

yes this is sweet indeed ;) after my new exhaust this is going to be my next mod :)

Sweet info here man, glad it's going well. It definatly doesn't take a rocket scientist to work with the SW. Love that gauge, how much did you give it for? Keep us updated, but you may be pushing the limits pretty hard if you are going to run 16psi, but that's just an opinion.

Thanks Tim, I paid just under 400 for the gauge because it was backordered for like 3 months so my shop gave me a little break. I am going to raise boost slowly and see what happens. I want to take it up to 16, but I might have to wait for some internals before I go that high. We'll see.

MAN EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD (burnout) Hurry up dyno dyno

Haha, thanks Tony. I will make it to the dyno after the injectors are in and I am confident with the tune. Let me just say though, I just drove 110 miles on the interstate back to school, and the mpi tuner is working like a champ. I am growing more and more pleased with it every day. The PCM is still holding the tune, and is running a perfect A/F on the WBo2. I played around with the timing table today, added some when the car is off of boost, and pulled some in the higher revs and under mid to high boost. The flash is as good as gone now!!!(thumb) This thing is really awesome guys!

Picture Time!

Now that I am back on the cable modem, here are some more pics from the install:

ahhh no glove box stock ?!?! u got riped man :) awesome write up though....thx a ton for the info......another part for the list :(

The WBo2 gauge was $400? Was it a difficult install?

Matt

Yes the gauge was about $400. Install was pretty easy, just power and ground for the gauge, and then you have to run the giant harness through the firewall. That was the only hard part, I ended up just cutting off the harness, running the wires through the firewall, and then soldering the harness back on. The sensor threads into a bung in the exhaust, and then you just hook up the harness to the sensor.

I got my ic piping prepped for the injector flange today, but my welder went home early this afternoon so I will have to finish it all up tomorrow morning. I also fabbed up a mounting bracket for the dual MBC setup and reinstalled it, it's a lot cleaner looking now. I'll post some pics of it all when I get back to school tomorrow night.

The tuning is going great! I made the 110 mile trip up to my moms again today and while cruising at 85mph under light throttle, I was running 15:1 A/F and a slight timing advance... While under boost and heavy throttle I was running 12:1 A/F and a slight timing retard. It feels so much smoother now at WOT, no more pulsing or hesitation. I am also getting awesome gas mileage from running the leaner mixture and timing advance while cruising.:) Like I said before, I am happier with the mpi tuner every day.:D

Hey Rich,

Can you post a picture of what the AEM gauge looks like at night?

I am trying to decide between just using my Defi A/F gauge with the AEM/Uego wideband or replacing my Defi A/F with the AEM gauge. I really like the way the Defi gauge matches my other gauges and displays 10-17A/F using real numbers not just a light show, but I would imagine that I would get a more accurate idea using the AEM display, it's just a matter of since I'll be logging everything via laptop/EMS do I need the wideband with the digital readout.

Thanks Bro! Great work with the car, I am getting excited about engine management for my ride.

The AEM gauge has red numbers in the display, and green, yellow, and red leds that show what the mixture is. It doesn't have any illumination on the actual face of the gauge like my C2 autometers.

If you like the way that the defi looks then you can just get the controller and save some cash that way. But it is really nice to have the digital display.

Thanks for the props, it is fun to tune, just be careful.:) Take it slow.

My injectors are now mounted on my ic piping, and ready to be hooked up. My welder did another amazing job on the flange. He is the best. I will post some pics tomorrow.

holy freakin jesus thats beautiful......your welder is the man......

haha, he is. I will take some better pics in the sunlight tomorrow so the flash doesn't drown it out. The welds are perfect though, best I have ever seen.
