Has anyone replaced the stock motormounts on their MS6 yet? If so, what did you use and how hard was it to do? Thanks

I own a Saturn ION Redline the people that made my mounts are working on Solid Motor Mounts for the MS6 here is there web site bwoodyperformance.com

I have the CP-E engine mount for the naturally aspirated V6 engine but I imagine the installation and net effect will be similar. Installation took about 20 minutes. Fairly easy to do. I got to borrow my buddy's lift and all I used was 15mm and 17mm sockets, a breaker bar, 2x4 plank to hold the tranny while the mount is replaced, and a torque wrench.

You can slightly feel a vibration on the steering wheel, but nothing visible. I've seen Pros with polyurethane engine mounts, and you can see the vibration on the steering wheel. Once on the go, you quickly forget about it.

Shifting is no longer accompanied by engine bucking. The car seems more collected when shifting or when putting the hammer down. I tried 5-4-3 shifting and there was hardly any drama underhood. 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are more authoritive. I highly recommend CP-E engine mount to anyone considering of getting one.

So its not something I could do on my own? You mentioned you used your buddys lift.

It's certainly doable by yourself. You'd just have to jack the car up and support the tranny while installing the mount.

I used my buddy's lift because he owed me a couple of favors. ;)

Raynman, are there 1 or 2 of these motor mounts? or more?

And Captain KRM, what about yours, the black version seems quite a bit more beefy, less likely to snap. The CPE version seems a bit less beefy? anyone tried the black/red ones yet? Seems to me I read they are a bit more difficult to install from a post here somewhere?

AWR has an excellent reputation when it comes to quality and durability. thier mount is the one Mazda uses on the Mazdaspeed6 Pace Cars at Laguna Seca. He did a revision to the part recently to improve fitment and so far we have praise from our customers on it.

I have the AWR motor mount (the one from Mazda3online.com) for my 3.....you can really feel the difference. I highly recommend them.

Only problem is that you can vibrations when the A/C is one. And i was able to install the AWR engine mount on the 3 in like 15min. Not hard at all if you have an impact wrench.

I just ordered the AWR mount
I'll post the fitment and feel as soon as I receive it

Currently, the only aftermarket mounts available are the ones that replace the rear wishbone mount only. Furthermore, no one has ever had the problem of the CP-E mount having problems because it wasn't beefy enough.

BTW, I would imagine that the install procedure for the AWR mount would be similar to what one would have to go through for the CP-E mount.

Right now we have a local customer testing out Medieval's new mounts for the Speed6. They will be releasing it at the new year with an MSP of $65. We will be running a sale for $50 once we get our shipment.

can you clue us in on the details on "Medieval's" mounts?
Are they making more than just the rear mount or the rear one only as the other 3 companies?

The rear mount is the one that makes the diff. that is why no one makes the rest.

Please post pics of what it mite look like Medieval that is.

Medieval is a company out of Northern Utah. As for the the other mounts I do know they are working on them, but not sure of an ETA.

I have worked a deal with Medieval to supply us with 2 free MS6 mounts to pass onto the Mazda forums members for futher testing. I'm am filling out the paper work for the items and will have them sometime next week. Since they are yet to be released they I have to sign a wavier.

How do they compare to the AMR and CPE mounts (i.e 70, 80, 90?) just curious how stiff. Definitly want to do they but not sure which ones to go with yet.

Is any one interested in Solid Motor Mounts? the people wo made them for the SRT4, Cobalt SS and Redline are looking in to the MS6. I just need to know if it is worth it to them!
