MPI Tuner Library

Yep!! I'm thinking that the EEC-V's in our Mazdas are good at being emissions nazis! I think I even read in the SMT-6 manual that extra injectors are a way around the controlling OBDII policies that a lot of newer ECU's employ.

Nick mentioned..by passing the fuel pressure sender. Have you tried this?

I am going to hook up my inline fuel pump today..see if that will help!

Chas

Yeah..i didn't know either..i am going in tomm..and will be resteting all connections on the unit. And checking out what he's talking about.

I hooked up my inline pump..and still having similar problems.

HELP PEOPLE...

My laptop died in front of me. I dont have the MPI software and the key. Does anyone has an FTP or something? I need this urgently.

1. Whats the max volts output you can send to the injectors. Im trying to boost 12psi but the car DOES NOT LIKES TO BOOST OVER 10psi. Its starts to buckle and drive like s*** sometimes....it gets so worse that in the middle of the streets I have to turn the car OFF and then back to ON in order to make it driveable again. (check attachments)

The voltage is the MAF voltage like Linux said. The MAF is 0-5v and you should have the upper limit to 4.98 so you won't max it out.

2. Help me if this screens are correct (check attachments)

3. Whats the meaning of? I may want to rename some things:

AMP Input V = ? ???
AFR IN = A/F input from 1st O2 sensor yup
Analog Out = Injectors voltage out??? whats the maximum?? This is what the MAF is giving the ECU, which will in turn make the ECU give more or less fuel. (After the MPI tweaks it)
Analog Mod = current value on the map where the redbox seats???? This is the amount the MPI is changing the voltage.
Ign Mod = current value on the map where the redbox seats???? The amount of retard or advance the MPI is giving.
RPM Reading = RPMS yup
Analog In = voltage output for injectors comming from ECU? What the starting MAF voltage is. This is the "before voltage" and the out is the "after voltage" after the MPI changes it.
Ign Time = ???? ???
Eng Temp V = voltage of coolant sensor? I think so
AFR Input V = voltage sending O2 sensor yup

The rest looks pretty good.

I'm gonna try to go get my injectors cleaned tomorrow, and then see if that helps this problem.

Ok, I have Berryman's B-12 running thru my fuel system right now. I even turned the fuel pressure up on my RRFPR. I was good for a drive cycle, and then bam, now my A/F ratio is all over the place. When I am cruising below the boost threshold like at 5 in/vac, I see my A/F ratio in the high 15's. I'm beginning to think one or more of my stock injectors may be failing, because for the numbers I put in, and the pressure raised, I should be pig rich! I should have some injectors to swap out in a couple of days! Edwin, if you read this, please see if you can find those other injectors I sold to you with the J-Spec manifold. It could mean life or death for my engine!

The funny thing is before the MPI, I thought that my issues had to do with the FM voltage clamp, but I am having the same issues. Something isn't right with my fuel system I strongly suspect. :(

With all those miles dude, it's not suprising. Time to upgrade and break the bank, DAMN these things.(pissed) (argh) (bang)

I have a thought that if you continuosly reset the ECU, that will happen. Its the learning process. Keep the ecu with no resets.

That was happening to me, so I installed the FM O2 modifier back in, and the switch is now set to go ON @ 4000rpms, .73 AMP or 43% throttle.

Now im running pig rich in some areas @ low rpm w/ boost because of the 8:1 FMU. But boosting 11psi.

Check my logfile, I go WOT at 00:14m and change gear WOT again, change and WOT short.
It was a nice pull

For a every mom and pop mini van you should have your injectors cleaned evey 30,000 miles. For a highly tune street street machine it should be done sonner then that. Even brand new injectors may not flow even from injector to injector.

Thanks again
