JaLMP5 Build/Progress Thread

Received my windage tray and oil pan back from media blasting. I masked them off, primed, painted and installed them. So now all I have to do at this point is install my pulleys and time the engine and it'll be ready to drop in once I run up to NJ and pick up my transmission.

Also mounted the sway bar to the subframe and greased and installed the bushings.

geeze more updates in one week then last 3 years, guess you need a forced vacation more often. Now get started on that engine harness you can see laying on the floor.

^ What's funny is that's what my wife said. I think I'll see if I can work another mini-vacation once it's running just so I can enjoy it for a little while.

So it's been a long while since my last update and I've made some significant progress on it. I got the motor all together and installed all the hard brake lines. Master cylinder is on and all but the front motor mount is on. Also installed the subframe, tie rods and tie rod ends. Steering rack has been depowered and installed, I just have to align it in order for the steering wheel to be straight. I'm installing the transmission so that I can drop the engine in place today or tomorrow. The deadline for the car to start is the 22nd so I'm pushing to get everything done.

I also got some MS6 front brakes, DBA 4000 rotors, and Hawk HP Plus pads. They look good behind the Enkei EVO 8 wheels

The Samco hose is a little too close for comfort to the wastegate but I'm hoping the DEI tape helps out on that issue.

I know this update is a little less informative and my thought process is running everywhere but I'm in the middle of work and just wanted to post something up as I forgot about this thread.

Car has been in storage for the last two years. Havent touched it, or even seen it for that matter.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I know how that feels, it's been 2 years and 4 months since this things been running. I'm excited to get this thing going. Have you checked out the MFactory GB for their gear sets? Looks to be promising, plus if you coupled that with the Ferdi trans brace it could easily suit your needs.

Nice, you got pictures? I was looking to get either a F series or a Ram but decided to spend a little less and got my Nissan Titan Pro4X. Hopefully you decided to get the Protege out of storage, too epic of a build to let it sit around.
