MPI Tuned car hits 13.56 and 108.6mph

Dean did it again today with MSP. He ran a best time of 13.56@107.20 and a best mile run with a 13.64@108.6mph. Even with the DOT drag tires he could stop smoking the tires in first and second gear. No should have or could haves here. We need to do better job of getting the power to the ground.

Thanks again

Later..........Nick

Trap speed is good. But 14-15psi..is gonna spin..no matter what slicks you have. He needs an electronic boost controller. Set it to like 10psi in 1-2nd, and 15psi in 3rd-5th.

what he said....

i would also do the motor mounts if you havn't already that might help...

Actually Nick changed out his front & rear to AWR Motor Mounts.

Not sure what drag radials he is using though. But dean told me he now has absolutley no wheel hop..only wheel spin.

yea I bet it has to do with that front subframe piece..that thing is freakin BEEFY compared to the stocker

yeah..i almost forgot about that subframe piece. It thicker in diameter..which will not let it flex as much. But i personally believe the front & rear motor mounts make the huge difference.

before he put in the motor mounts..he told me he had tons of wheel hop at 12psi.

But now..with motor mounts..only wheel spin.

Same here, nothing but spin now.

I don't want to use them, I just want to see what they look like. I might go to the bigger MAF after Nick gets it figured out completely.

He didn't run a full slick today, he used those street slicks or whatever they were. If he had a full slick, that would of probably let him get into the 12's, but he didn't run the slicks because of the height of them. I have to tell ya, it was a nice looking run, if he got more traction with that run I think he would of deffinatly hit the 12's.

12's in an MSP?...I want to see that on vid!

13.56@107.20...Nice run...what is your estimated power at the wheels?

No estimation, he has up to 328whp with race fuel and exhaust cutout. He made liek 344 ft-lbs of torque with the nitrous intercooler spray too. That thing will definatly get into the 12's once he gets the traction with full slicks.

Sounds good...sounds very good...how is everything else holding up...tranny...driveline etc...I'm not familiar with his setup...anything break yet?

Any top speed runs?

MPNick did his motor, he is on ALL stock driveline including the clutch. He ran with street slick type tires, they are real sticky. He launched a little hard once and was shifting hard and nothing broke. No top speed runs, I don't think he's into that.

great times! a quality electronic boost controller that can control boost at different speed/gear would definitely help the spin when setup right. i've seen a handful of innovative's at work and they're awesome (though they don't look the prettiest). http://innovativeturbo.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/0095.3.3290917058646485725 if the EMS could display speed graphs or has a launch control function that'd be a life saver too.
