daedalus said:Microtech standalone = 999.99 right now, and includes a MAP sensor. Do the math, spend 19 more dollars and dont ever have to worry about upgrading your EMS ever again..
igdrasil said:I wasnt the fastest but I can assure you the MPI will do the work just fine. I dynoed 224whp @ 10psi daily use, 4 extra injectors with some issues with leaks.
I already blew 2 engines on MPI because I was running just over mechanical limits.
Its not full controll, but the unit does the job. With the right components, you can do any WHP if done right.
But, if you want to have True FULL CONTROL, you want to know what the EMS is doing and how the engine is responding, you will need Standalone, and for that you need a good tunner.

I dont know where the dyno is for 18psi but he dyno'd
18psi AF 11.8 it made 352.4whp and 349.7ftq (100 Octane)

I am curious though, i was reading on your dyno posts, that your turbo had a gt28 comp wheel. What does that push potenial output up to? Around 375? I'm only curious because it seems like a cheaper alternative to getting a new snail. As far as i know though, no one has broken 300hp on a stock turbo yet. So i dont plan on breaking any records. Im just going to be happy to have a powerband that extends past a fuel cut a 4500rpms!

I just dont want to go through the hassle of emissions and tuning the standalone. If Focus can run that kind of power with the MPI why cant I. This will be a daily driven car, and a standalone I personally thinkjust wouldnt be the way for me.
daedalus- I'm not disagreeing with you on mircotech, and how easy and user friendly it is. I just think its not the right path for me. It appears that you have made good decisions in the past and the mircotech will suit you well. With it installed and tuned I have no doubt that your msp will endup beaing one of the best on the forums, and your msp is sick as it is. Please keep us posted and let us know how evrything goes.
SenorCorwin said:Totally agree, dont go into this blind, and learn from matthew. If you problems with your car fix them first before looking to boost more or messing with your ecu, it will create more problems.
I would not tune the MPI with an extra injector setup esp. if your worried about being complicated.

We have a built in fuel clamp. How do you clamp with this setup?
We have a built in O2 clamp. How do you clamp?
We do data logging. Does your set?
We have duel mapping. Can you?
We have a built in AFR meter. Does yours?
MPNick said:Why is the dyno sheet not in SAE? Dean made more whp and torque at SAE, with the same factor as that sheet he was way more. Something like 75 more torque to the ground and much lower in the RPMs. Where is the dyno files like we posted? Lets show real dyno facts.
