Mount for the cubby hole?

I am looking for a mount of some kind, preferrably for a phone or other similar device that would be mounted to the side of the cubby hole below the climate control. This intrigues me the most as I am now using more and more apps on my phone whilst in the car.

Perfect idea would be a clip of some kind that allows the mount to go a bit above the stick area.

Does anyone have links to mounts that they can recommend for cubby/side use?

I am not too keen on covering the clock. Do you have any issues changing fan speeds under it? Love the idea though, hadn't really thought about it.

Appreciate the response but still not what I'm really looking for.

Something that has a clip to the side of the cubby and some sort of snake like thing to hold a mount would be perfect... I'm thinking of taking it into CarToys and seeing if they have any ideas.

I got one of these for <$10 a while ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windshield-...8191?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5404c8724f It's a clamp so youc an hold all kind of things with it. There is also a version made to clip into a vent. Maybe you can get one of these to work in the cubby hole. I have mine on the plastic next to the UI; the cup is small enough to fit. I usually only use this when I am using Torque Pro.

I think that's not a bad idea, i wouldn't do the vent stuff, but using the mound on the black trim wouldn't be a horrible idea; does the mount damage it at all when you take it off? Is it pretty sturdy? I think my preference would still to have it lower, or near the cubby but this isn't a bad idea at all.

I was looking for something in the same spot, but then my Note3 would not fit there.
I ended up using the rear cup holder with one of these:

I also installed a wireless charger in it and it's plugged in into the power outlet in the arm rest.
Wireless charger, that I'm using is the 3 coil type.
Everything is glued in position, so I will never have to adjust, just push in the phone.
It's not in front of me, but I don't really need it, I'm not using it while driving.
Soon, I will have a nav unit installed anyway.

No, it wont damage it. The suction cup has a lever on it that you use to secure it, and to loosen it. This way you don't have to yank at it to remove it.

Maybe you're looking for "Pro Clip" they wedge between dash pieces.

But you can use their generic ones though probably that wedges in the dash pieces

It mounts in your charging (lighter) socket in the cubby, and the "neck" is stiff and bendable so you can angle it however you want.
