Misfiring... Again!

the fact that the engine is even running says your rods/pistons are intact. from the sound, it could be a valve, cam, or fueling issue. have you had a compression and leak test done? that will point you in the right direction.

smoke from the dipstick - leak thru the piston - rings are shot
smoke from the intake - intake valves/springs are shot or cam is done
smoke from the exhaust - exhaust valves are toast

mod list?

how did the top of the piston look? any scuffing on the cylinder walls?
 
i got the compression test and there is no compression in cylinder 3 and there is a vacuum leak. no smoke from anywhere mayb just lil from the exhaust but thats cuz of the weather

rear motor mount
and thats about it

dont remember how it looked but half of the rod was gone like the circle looked like a C
 
DONT START THE CAR!

from what you describe the rod has separated from the crank and the piston is lodged in the cylinder. starting the car can blow the piston down, send the rod thru the block, or destroy the crank.
 
Hey guys I'm having the same type of issue's I own a 07 Speed 3 mods are Injen Cai Cobb Turbo inlet,Cobb shifter weight and short throw shifter hks SSQV in Recric. Ive stretched the Coil springs have upgraded the spark plugs to Denzo colder step.

Ive had several misfire codes

right now Ive got cel lights on have to go get them read again

But whats happening is when I go to accelerate past 3500 RPM the car comes onto to boost like it should but it starts jerking and hesitating Ive had my car dynod with my currnet mods and it was running rich and Hesitating on the Dyno Im on the fence of buying an Access Port to tune and lean it out or upgrading my fuel pump

I well get my codes checked and post them.
 
yea man that's what happens w my car..this s*** happened twice already and it sucks ass.. i haven't driven my car in 3 weeks already.my car starts jerking, especially when you're cruising at a certain RPM
 
Well I bought a new set of plugs have had them in since Thursday of last week so far so good Hoping that fixed it
 
P0300. Car cranks for several seconds before running when starting it. Idle feels a little rough. It comes and goes though. Could this be an intermittent problem with a coil pack?

yes, or if your running densos, a poor connection between the spring and top of the plug. if you do get a specific cylinder code, switch the coil pack to a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows it. i would check gaps first and for signs of fouling. 0.028-0.030 should be fine, my stockers were all over the place 0.019 - 0.040.

MS-CAI, Inlet tube, prototype Forge BPV and colder plugs. I actually hadn`t intended to get colder plugs, but I had my wife call to order a set of replacements and ended up with the colder range.
I stretched the springs when I installed the plugs (months ago). I had the code read at the parts store. It didn`t show a particular cylinder as the problem.

Pretty sure they are the Densos from PG. I`ll need to find the boxes. The originals turned out to still be in pretty good shape, so I saved them in the boxes the replacements came in. I`m just not sure where right now.
 
hey mid_life i have the same problem dude. comes and goes. i thought i fixed it by replacing the plugs but still a no go. i think its the coil pack.. still haven't gotten around to fixing my car.. s***'s still sitting in the driveway

I had my engine replaced at 29K because of low compression in cylinder 3. IIRC, I've read of at least one other instance of this on this forum.
 
after 4 months, i'm still having problems with this ****** car. i replaced the spark plugs with OEM ones and replaced coil pack #3. already spent about $300 and nothing is working at all. need help plz.

car works fine when you first start it after resetting the battery.. i can drive the car with no problems, no stuttering, no hesitating ~30 miles. once i try to park and go on reverse, audible misfire happens.. car starts shaking, RPM drops to about the first line after 0.. any ideas why reversing would cause a misfire? reversing is what's triggering this problem.. i got the code P0303
