yeah whos beretta be that?

It's a good friend of mine who has a 93 Beretta, with alot of work done to it. Mostly looks, but hes got some suspension and this winter he plans on putting a new engine in it and finally giving it some balls.

Looks like I am going to be out for the drive. Tonite I became a member of the infamous VICS screw club. I think it has already tossed the screw, no pinging anymore runs good now that I regapped the spark plug. Still got the check engine light due to the cylinder misfire. Gunna talk to the dealer tomorrow and see if they will take care of me. I never got a recall notice and I checked again tonite on Mazdas website and I don't show a recall for my vehicle......... Worst case, my brother in law has a borescope and can check it out for damage. But, I would like to have Mazda take care of it first.......................

Sorry to hear that man, but hopefully you get that taken care of ASAP. When I had my screw problem it was fixed next day, so you still might be able to make it by some miracle. Good luck with the repairs.

Steve, did you have a recall letter or no ? I never got anything from Mazda about it. Also, I have my VIN# registered on the website and it shows no recalls......... I'm just worried that my local dealer is going to tell me tuff s***.

Mine happened long before the recall letters were sent out, but I did get a recall letter.

Yeah, I just printed off the letter and guess what, my VIN doesn't fall in the range of the recall........sweet. Prepare to get *****.

Keep us posted with the repair progress. Also, since it is a common problem, there might be a TSB out and you can sometimes use that to have them repair things, even if its out of warranty.

On another note, does anyone here know if I change out my rear pads and rotors, will I have to bleed my brakes?

No, you won't. You only have to bleed if you open the pressurized part hydraulic system. That only happens when you remove a caliper, master cylinder, wheel cylinder, line or valve.

However... some people prefer to crack open the bleeder screws when compressing a caliper piston in order to keep any crap in the fluid from getting back to the master cylinder. It's a good idea but not required.

I'm sure you've never changed your brake fluid, so it couldn't hurt to get some fresh stuff in there.

I know when my dad and I changed my front pads and rotors, we bled the lines and refilled the fluid with new stuff. I will probably just change the pads and rotors tomorrow and not worry about the fluid for now.

Nothing going on yet, they told me they might be able to look at today, but I am not going to hold my breath. I'm sure nothing will happen til Mon. Then I am anticipating that the gloves will have to come off. I am planning on them giving me any help at all. If that is the case, it's gunna get towed to my bro-in-law and I will have him check it out for bascally nothing....... He can scope it and everything to verify and damage to cylinder walls, etc.

I am crossing my fingers that all I need is to change out my intake manifold.............

You sound just like me tonight, but it seems that sometimes doing things at the last minute gets them done. I dont know how youre cutting the grass with this rain, but im sure you can get the other things done. I am gonna change out my pads and rotors, and im just about to go and pick up the car from the alignment.
