I know that I got at least the morning off, but I might have to be back to work at 4, but thats not a problem. I would love to have my springs on there by the time the drive rolls around, but I have to wait till my parents take off for Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks before some of the wrenching begins.

Took myself off the list not because I cant or dont want to go cuz I had a blast on my first one and you guys rock and just welcomed me the new kid to the Michigan Mazda chapter no prob. But I got in a car accident today (6/29) my whole front end is completely *****.
Story: Goin through downtown howell on a 35 mph road goin speed limit and the woman in front of me which was 2 car lenghts in front was stopped so I was stopping and my brakes just didnt work until I mashed on them and by then it was too late, I locked up my brakes and slid right into the back of her Yukon Denali. upper grill I ripped off cuz it was dangling, the bar right when you open the hood that goes above the radiator is dented and pushed up, both headlights and hood pushed up and dented, hole through the upper part of the lower grill and bumper from her hitch which pushed back the iron bumper which then pushed into my radiator and denting it, no crack or leakage but its still ******. My sunglasses flew off and and the seatbelt rocked me pretty hard and my chest hurts. The car isnt totalled which would be completely horrible to take another MP3 off the board it just wont be fixed for atleast another month.

Dose anybody have a mazda scanner tool that they would be willing to bring to the event? I'm thinking about getting the autoenginuity scanner but I'd like to see one in action first, kinda like a try before you buy thing. I have a laptop that I can bring if needed.

What do you need to use it for? I have a ScanGauge that lives in my car 24-7. It's a great tool and the new ones are even smaller than mine.

It's not a matter of need, we are in the USA, it is a matter of want and desire!!!!:) OK now to be serious. I just want one. I want to be able to see the information that the autoenginuity scanner shows, plus the speed tracking software looks pretty cool too. I plan on modding my car and I'd like to be able to monitor stuff to see the affects. It also looks like I can use this tool in place of installing some gauges, which I don't want to do unless there is no other choice.

I didn't ask why you needed it, I asked you what you need it for.
What do you want to use it for?
As in "I want to monitor things that my car is doing" or "I want to plot performance curves" or "I just want to read DTCs".

You just asked if anybody had a "mazda scanner tool". That covers a lot of area.

Yeah...Car accidents hurt I couldnt imagine something like that on the highway. My neck is sore as hell today cuz it got some wicked whiplash but not my chest from the seatbelt. I miss my Zoom Zoom:'(

My bad, I wasn't trying to be a smart a$$. I was just trying to make a joke. But I see your point I should have been more specific as to my intent of use. One other point that might make a difference is I have a '06 speed6 and I don't know if it will have the same port as a protege. You would think it would be the same, but I have no clue. What you said is about right for what I want if for though.

Well, since I don't have a Protege, I think you'd be fine if you wanted to use a ScanGauge. :D
The new one has a USB computer interface, so it has even more functionality than mine. I don't think it has the "Performance Analyzer", though.

Also, it's not the port that matters (those have been standardized for the better part of a decade) so much as the protocol. '04 and newer Mazdas (includeing the MS6) use the CAN Bus protocol and most of the older equipment won't interface with it. You'll need to ensure that whatever you end up with is CAN Bus capable.

Well, I gave in and ordered my new rear rotors and pads, since mine started screeching today. Power Slot Pro Slot rotors and Hawk HPS pads should be in in about 10 days. Add this to the springs I want to get on and I have nice little list of things to do before the drive.

Would you guys mind a Toyota Corrolla in the drive? If all goes well my friend is putting in a engine into it. He said if i dont mind and you guys dont care he'd seriously consider it.

I'd love to go, but my alignment is tweaked and my stock tires (worn out really badly) make it feel like i'm driving on ice. If someone's got a loaner car, i'll use it ;)

I plan on getting new wheels/tire/springs/struts/pads sometime in the near future. Then I'll be able to make it to any subsequent drives.

What kind of wheels and tires are you looking at? I've got my brakes on order, and hope to get my springs installed before the drive next week. Starting Sunday I have a spare car and the house to myself for 2 weeks, so I can park mine in the garage and get it all worked on in the mean time.

17" enkei evo6 rims, falken azenis st115 215/40/17 tires.

I won't have the money for them for a while, though.

nice. This will be the first time I get out on my new wheels, so we'll see if it makes any difference in the corners.
