Messing around in a R32

This video looks like it was filmed right in front of the Audi/VW of North America headquaters here in Michigan.

Well the problem with the R32 vs. EVO vs. STI thing is that the car really are not in the same class at all. Sure they're all AWD, and have some pretty nice engines but the EVO and STI are street versions of rally cars and im sure they drive and ride just like it. The R32 was never designed to compete with those cars and was geared more towards a older crowd of drivers. Think about the S4, no one ever compares that to the STI or EVO. Why? Completely different machines.

What a piece of crap. I'm actually amazed it didn't fall apart, I was half expecting to see the Haldex unit to fall out the bottom.

Because there are several running that.

With just intake, ECU, flapper mod (exhaust) people have hit 13.2-13.4's.

VR6's are known to take quite a while to break in so, I wouldn't be surprised that low mile ones are quite a bit slower than ones with over 15k on them.

I'm gonna call a big b/s on that, considering I smoked a supercharged one at the track that only ran 13.6's

so its some guy beating the s*** out of his car, he should make a video of his window regulators breaking and the glass falling down inside the door

LOL

Or the check engine light blinking.

lol damn... I see you guys are not fans of vw...
The R32s were acutally built in Germany so they should be the last cars to have any problems.

nah its not that really, its just the *** that made this video does not deserve that car, he thinks he is hot s*** "oohhh look at me I have an R32" then he procedes to beat the living s*** out of it, pretending like he knows how to drive, its pretty sad really

I am not going to get into he is a dick or not (the dude who made the video)
All i am going to say is, if he worked and bought this car from his own work and sweat, then, he could do whatever he wants to it. He could piss on it as far as i care.
That being said, it is a very nice car. It has a punch too. The AWD is also sweetness.
I also give it to the dude, he knows his car good enough to handle it, which is impressive. Granted, snow tires are installed, but that is not the point.

overall, one of the better homemade videos i have seen

pretending..... It looks like he can drive pretty well to me. That J-turn was executed about as well as any I have seen.

haha 1. HILARIOUS comment on the window falling. Happened to my mother's jetta twice. The problems we had with that car made me stay away from a jetta or gti. Still...VW's are very addictive even with their problems. But yea the R32 is built in germany and not mexico, so it prob. is a bit higher in quality....plus, aren't hte new jettas being built in germany again?

Had an R32 for 8 months after trading in my 01 Jetta... Even though they are being made in Germany again I had many more problems with a stock car than the Jetta which was highly modded...motor mounts broke three different times, clutch problems, and the oh so popular window regulator problem... and the first time I had the car at the track with about 150 miles on it I had 14.2... stock- no mods at all. The more miles you put on the VR6 the better it runs... Had fun in the car while I had it but it definately wasn't my favorite...

Cool vid though...
