If you have a MazdaSpeed3 with the Mazda all-weather floor mats installed, it may cause the accelerator pedal to get stuck due to a clearance issue. These floor mats will be recalled however a replacement is not available at this time. Mazda is still working on the updated part and it will be mailed directly to you when it becomes available.

Actual owner notifications will be mailed out this Wednesday. Not everyone will get notified because if you did not purchase these floor mats and had them installed by the dealer at the time of vehicle purchase, it will not show up in your vehicle's report. In otherwords, if you purchased these floormats after you bought the car, you will need to persue this recall with your dealer yourself.

very old news

what's old news jackass? the recall or the fact that the floormats cause the gas pedal to stick? everyone here knows already about the gas pedal issue, but NO one has known up to this point what mazda was going to do about it

safety news are never old news. its always good to know, especially those recently tuning in.

Thanks for the update!! I bought these brand new off ebay and am gonna have my dealer get the "new" ones when they come in.

Looks like the recall isn't actually effective until tomorrow. I brought my car in this morning to get the "check engine" light fixed (P2006), and brought along a copy of the mat recall with me to have it taken care of at the same time. The service writer had never even seen/heard of it (he was wondering why the heck floormats would need a recall), until he spoke with the service manager who just got the email last night. They're holding the car overnight so they can check my VIN again the recall; I don't know how this will matter since I bought the mats the next day. Regardless, the mats are obviously in the car, so I hope they will take care of the issue. Seems like Mazda itself is doing a good wrt their customers.
