MazdaSpeed exhaust and CAI HP?

about how much power does the exhaust and cai add on the speed3, i only have driven one with it.. so i cant compare a stock one to mine..

I think 298 is with a reprogrammed ECU. I would say your crank power is roughly 280ish. Theres no way that threw those parts on that car without a modded ecu. Would be interesting if we could get our hands on the reflash.

the cat back exhaust only makes like 8-10hp and the intake makes realistically around 10whp.

Now the dealer I bought my speed3 at sells all sorts of aftermarket stuff through thier parts dept. They are a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda dealer and they have dealer made 550hp+ mustangs on the lot for sale. Like 6 of them. They have a few 450hp+ modded trucks and a few Ford GT super cars with mods also. They have an in house dyno and told me that I could have the Mazdaspeed CAI and exhaust installed there and they would tune the ECM and dyno it for me. Do all Mazdaspeed dealers offer ECM tunes with the CAI and exhaust upgrade? The dealer is Tasca Ford. They are a big racing dealer. One of the younger Tacas always has a dealer hotrod and one of his cars right now is an 08 black MS3 that I saw and his dyno sheet was 320hp at the wheels. Torque was like 330ish I think?? I could have bought it (anyone can) but it was a hair under $29 and it had miles on it.

I got lost there........with the tune and the CAI and CB they said I would be around 290/300 with the TUNE!! With out the tune it's less butthey will still dyno it and give me the sheet.

would you even need a tune for those mods?

need, no. Want, probably.

From the dynosheets ive seen, the catback really doesnt help much at all.. it gained a little torque but lost like 2 hp or something.
As for the intake, ive seen them gain quite a bit, 25 or so.

I remember while reading reviews of the MS3 they would mention a "dealer kit" that would increase the power to something like 290 hp and 300 torque (or something). The kit was the CAI, exhaust, suspension parts of some kind, and the Rays wheels (IIRC).

nice, i bet the tune though, drops fuel milage... so ill just be happy with 20-30 more hp..

thanx guys

From all the reading Ive done a cbe will not give any more hp.You will have to get a tbe if you want some hp gains. The CAI will give between 15-20hp.If I was you I would just keep the stock exhaust and add a race pipe.

the ms catback is still a 2.5 or is it a 3? cause i would like to get the ms cbe now and upgrade up to the downpipe later.

Thats what I'm thinking. Just a downpipe/midpipe combo and gut the rear cat, and you should be good to go, right? It would be cheaper than getting a full turbo back, and that would mean more money for the PG manifold(nana)!

Kind of hard to believe since no one out there has been able to reflash the ECU on these cars so far. Factory scan tools really don't have the ability to do things like that either. What does this Kid have on his car that gives it that much power?

the only thing factory scan tools can do is pull the programming and replace it with another tune that mazda has put out.. there is no custom programing from the factory scan tools...

yea i belive u can get a high flow cat so no cells and use the stock catback without cats...should produce the same results, for half the price too, and the second cat can be gutted for free
