i can tell u all this right now, its gonna b the hatch but, with the 2.0L with 254 hp to the crank u do the math, next fall i think is to soon but hey what do i know (rockon)

The Mazda 3 hatch is the best looking of all the hatches out there right now...hands down. Still, I wouldn't hit it. The sedan is just so much more sexier. Besides, when you consider all performance-oriented cars, there have got to be more sedans and coupes than anything else. Hatches may be more utilitarian, but they are by no means the standard when talking about performance automobiles.

that old man is so checking out that laides ass. lol

Haha, and he is either taking a pic of it or he is wiping a tear from his eye.:)

Oh, and I vote that they DON'T make it a sedan with AWD... I might have to sell the beloved MSP if that happens. (nervous)

I think the Hatch just looks "fat". I think the Audi A3 is the best out there. $26k fairly well loaded is a fairly good deal, it just gets expensive when you start adding options.

so the MS3's going to have 230-250hp...in a FWD setup. and we thought the 170hp msp had a lot of torque steer! As far as people spending 22k on an MS3 all day long... not quite sure where you pulled that number from. An MS3 sedan with every conceivable option stickers for a little over 20k. The real world price is more like 18k.
I sell Mazda's and the majority I sell are more equiped. I was also hoppeing for it to be AWD.
I just stated the info we received from corporate Mazda.
I really doubt that you'll see those kind of rebates of the MS6. There are only very limited amounts being produced.

two different Buyers, and i would think that the average true auto enthusiast would rather not be driving a "wagon"

i'd argue that the true auto enthusiast isn't going to drive a sedan either. they're going to drive a sports car...it's not like sedans are so much more "sporty" than hatches. most of the world likes hatches better; just not this side of the pond.

none of this matters anyway. there are hatch people, and sedan people, and never the twain shall meet. it's going to be what it's going to be, regardless of how vehemently we argue that "hatch is bettAr!" "no, sedan pwns lolZ!"

to be honest, i'm just happy that something is coming out at all.

obviously a 'true enthusiast' will be driving a 'true sports car' if they have it their way. Problem is, you have to draw the line somewhere. Not everyone can afford, afterall, a true sports car.

in terms of which 'platform' is the more ideal choice for people interested in a 'pocket rocket' to say the least, it's debateable. I for one am surprised with how many people on here support mazda's choice to go with the 5 door. In the end, regardless of what people like me think, if more people like the 5 door MS option... mazda made the right choice. it's all a numbers game anyway. As for me... 250 hp FWD? nah... I think I'll pass! I had some torque steer for breakfast. Besides, for the price they're going to be asking, we'll easily be able to buy and end of the model cycle WRX. (which, even with 20 less hp, would still be the better car.)

Common guys...Stop the trash talking...Have some faith in Mazda...All the "haters" will once AGAIN be silenced when the MS3 becomes a reality. That DI 2.3 turbo is a gem and will only become more potent...combined with Mazdaspeed's renowned suspension and handling expertise...Mazda is not going to waste time on something that is similar to or just on par with the competition...like most Mazda models...it's going to be something fresh...something different and a hell of a lot of fun to drive!

AWD sedan for me please. The hatch is the best looking hatch IMO, but I still don't like them in general.

If the MS3 has AWD and 250hp, I think they will pull a LOT of sales away from Subaru. The WRX looks like an oragami mishap compared to the 3. 250hp is really pushing it with torque steer, and a lot of consumers won't like that.

Not the change the subject, but I noticed a clunk in the MS6, too. I'll have to poll the MS6 guys to see if it's the same thing.

No clunk in mine yet.

are you aware of what the clunk really is?

failure of the rear bushings on the swaybar. Which results in the rear sway bar flopping around and hitting the side of the car and s***...clunk.

Is that what you hear? I only ask because i see a lot of people get confused as to what the clunk really is.

....amazing, I came here back in 2001 because of the f'n clunk, trying to find a fix, and here it is ~2006, and we are still talking about it. Maybe I should look to something else other then a mazda next time around....

There's no way they'd do AWD in the 3. It would add too much weight and raise the prices. As for the HP, I've heard that it's going to be over 250 hp. As for the torgue steer, all the guys who have the SRT-4 don't seem to mind and they all continue to add hp to their cars.
