Mazdaspeed 3

There's no way they'd do AWD in the 3. It would add too much weight and raise the prices. As for the HP, I've heard that it's going to be over 250 hp. As for the torgue steer, all the guys who have the SRT-4 don't seem to mind and they all continue to add hp to their cars.

I recently read an online article about the stage 3 SRT-4. They commented that the Mopar techs had found a perfect solution for torque-steer. Massive wheelspin. With very limited traction in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd the test drivers found that the massive torque-steer that they had come to expect had been completely eliminated.

So the solutions seems to be to build bigger and badder motors so that you can spin the s*** out of your tires...LOL! (thumb)

(mswerd) So will future MS3 owners...In the end...you will want and get MORE POWER!..and now with that sweet 2.3 T...The quest will be ever stronger ;)

don't know if anyone mentioned it but the srt-4 comes stock with a lsd. hopefully mazda will put an lsd in the mazdaspeed 3 because open-diff with that much power sucks.

are you aware of what the clunk really is?

failure of the rear bushings on the swaybar. Which results in the rear sway bar flopping around and hitting the side of the car and s***...clunk.

Is that what you hear? I only ask because i see a lot of people get confused as to what the clunk really is.

....amazing, I came here back in 2001 because of the f'n clunk, trying to find a fix, and here it is ~2006, and we are still talking about it. Maybe I should look to something else other then a mazda next time around....

Yes, I know exactly what the "clunk" is. I've gone through it twice on my MSP.

I'm not sure that the MS6 clunk is the same as the MSP clunk, but it sounded the same. It's not my car, so I didn't really care.

i'd argue that the true auto enthusiast isn't going to drive a sedan either. they're going to drive a sports car...it's not like sedans are so much more "sporty" than hatches. most of the world likes hatches better; just not this side of the pond.

none of this matters anyway. there are hatch people, and sedan people, and never the twain shall meet. it's going to be what it's going to be, regardless of how vehemently we argue that "hatch is bettAr!" "no, sedan pwns lolZ!"

to be honest, i'm just happy that something is coming out at all.

Too bad they didn't make a hatch version like the Mazda6 5-door. I've got one of those too, and the room in the back is cavernous with the seats folded flat. But from the outside it looks just like the sedan. Best of both worlds. (thumb)

Speaking of room in the rear, I never noticed how annoying is is to put stuff all the back in the trunk of the Mazda3 sedan. I've hit my head on the lid twice while loading my rental 3. I think it's because of how short that lid is. It also makes it a pain to close (no inertia). Just ranting.
