Mazdas Cheap!!!!

Okay I dont know if this has been posted yet but i just noticed that the black trim around our windows is nothing more than a black sticker!!!!! Has anyone pulled this off to reveal the painted door underneath? does it match the body paint or is it just base coat paint......cause if it is Im definately going to pull that s*** off

It should be the color of your car.. a weird thing I noticed is I have a 2002 P5 and a co worker has a 2002.5... he has the tape and mine are painted black.. looks the same from afar but not up close. It has its pluses and minueses, if you ever get that damaged it will be a LOT less to repair it. But then again it is merely "tape"...

i've messed mine up while trying to take the tweeters off so i could get the door panel off. i haven't peeled it back tho. is it easy to pull off?

Guys what are we talking about? Are we talking about the black outline around the window? When its daylight I'm going to check, sheesh I really never pay attention to these things. I don't even want to know what else mazda tries to save money on. Bad enough we have thin paint, and our window glass is tHe SuCk.

Wait so you're saying that underneath that ugly flat black around the windows, there may be Titanium paint? Damn I want to find out but dont want to take it off and find like bare metal lol

It is definately painted underneath there.I have a couple of rock chips in my stickers and there is spicy orange under there.The question is,does it look like the rest of the cars unseen spots?like under the hood where they didnt apply the pearl coat so ,will it look different?

All the Black micas were painted and have no stickers,I noticed that before i even bought my Speed.
I would be willing to bet money that the whole door frame was painted at the sme time and in the same finish.The stickers were applied after that.SO with a little heat and so go gone,I am sure you could pull them right off and clean it up with no problem.
Who wants to be the guinea pig?
Go find a wrecked one in the junkyard and start pulling tha sticker off.Find a bad door though so they dont get mad for ruining a good one.
I personally like my black surround though.

when removed, the pain of the car will show.

Good answer...That was what i was thinking as well.....NOW we know.
So for all of you that want the black gone...GET TO PEELING and post up some pics.Cosider this before removing,are your windows tinted? If they are,it will break up the black look of the window area.If you are not and cosidering tint,think about what it will look like FIRST!
I know that i plan on tinting and think it will look better and more solid with the stickers in place.

it might also bring contrast to the windows if they are tinted.......
i guess it all depends on your preferences.
