OK I can confirm that yes, it is only black tape. The paint underneath is exactly the same as the rest of the body...full base, pearl coat, and clearcoated.

I took off a big chunk on my drivers' door. If I have time on my lunch break, I'll finish up one side and take a pic.

The outside window trim is black as well as the B pillar that seperates the two doors.Go outside and look.

Well I was able to take off the tape on the front door, and about half of the back door on the driver's side. When I get home I'll finish up the one side and take some pics.

Looks really good though so far.

Well, I went to take a picture but my camera died during the upload. Thought I had enough battery juice left. Anyway, if its a complete paint job underneath and not hard to take off I just might do so when I clay bar my car next. On a side note while taking a pic I found two new scratches on my car (pissed)

I have the tape too. I just went out and looked. The tape is also on the new Mazda 6's....there is one next to me in "not or spicy" orange. So where's the pic with it off?
