Mazda3i Stalling Problem?!

A BUMMER? From a Mazda3? Good Luck. I'd hate to see your gas bill, between the RAM, known to be a gas guzzler, and a BUMMER, also known to be less than frugle on fuel.
Besides, it seems that your problems were caused by the dealer, not Mazda. Why take it out on them?

Yeah I agree completely. I could see if you had multiple Mazda's with multiple problems but you had one lemon. And the chances of getting another lemon are pretty slim, especially with a Japanese car. I've had 6 Mazdas and none of them were lemons. Sure they had little annoyances, but they never left me stranded. It would be interesting to see how the Hummer and Dodge fair in terms of reliability and QC issues.

You're dealer was the issue not Mazda.

You bring up a good point about the reliability records of the other two vehicles. I'm sorry I didn't think of that argument myself.
The answer is, we already know what their track records are, not to mention the price of admission, and it ain't all that good. American vehicles in general have been struggling with quality control issues for years.
I worked for a Jeep dealer when Chrysler bought them out and as bad a QC on the Jeeps was before, well, to be nice about it let's just say that it didn't improve. They are more interested in putting money in their shareholders mutual fund accounts than they are in solving owner problems. There moto should be, "Get it out fast and cheap, and if it breaks we'll worry about that then."

In regards to your statement about "our problem" being the dealer and not Mazda. Well, actually the dealer did everything they could to help us out, above and beyond. Mazda is the one that told us that the "Stalling Problem" was our problem and that we were to deal with it. And we were told that by "Mazda Corporate" in California. My husband and I have had so many problems with Mazda Corp. and that is why we will not buy another Mazda, we have owned Mazdas before, but this whole experience has left a really bad taste in our mouths!!! As for the Ram we have had this truck for about 3 years now and have had NO PROBLEMS!! When being treated the way we were treated by Mazda, that would make just about anyone not want a vehicle from that manufacture again or any other manufacture if you were treated that way!!!

As of today March 7th, my husband and I no longer own a 04 Mazda3! (cheers) Mazda has offically bought back the car, it was a "Full Re-Purchase"!!

Just came across this thread and the stalling problem is common with the Mazda3. Here in Canada, there is no such thing as a lemon aide law cuz we're just "too nice" or what I think, a bunch of wimps to sue one another.

FWIW, my Mazda3 stalled a few times under a full electrical load including with the A/C on. We also have an intermittent rough idle (common) and poor A/C where the compressor cycles only for 10 seconds every minute or so under warm or hot conditions.
