mazda protege lx 2003
I have an 03 mazda protege lx with a gforce chip and AEM intake and I want to do alot more, i.e. fuel injection system, borla exhaust and a new ported header. Basically i wanna make this thing fast becuse everyone thinks it has no potential, any suggestions? What kind of fuel rail should i get?

compared to a full motor build, turbo will be the cheapest route - especially for the protege. try to find an MSP manifold-turbo-s.pipe and that will give you a head start.

don't listen to the retards on the board. most people will help you out if you ask seriously.

You need to do a lot of RESEARCH. It involves actually reading about your car and about the basics of cars in general. While you're researching, most people on here will be glad to lend you a hand if you have questions. You have to understand that there are people that join the forum just to post stupid questions to waste people's time. I'm not sure if you're one of them but if you're not, then welcome to the forum.

There are plenty of people on this forum that are more than willing to help you out, but atleast do some research first. Having your first post asking about random parts that you've heard about and assume they work on any car is not a way to get help.

If you really want to build a fast sleeper, it's going to take a lot of time, money, and knowledge. The Protege wasn't built to be a fast sports car, it was built as a fuel efficient compact car, so it's not like you can just get some bolt on parts and expect it to be a quarter mile king. If you really want to build the car, turbo is the best option, and it's not going to be cheap. If you're serious, save up some money and see if you can source some Mazdaspeed parts for the car.

Welcome to the forum, There is alot of great information here to build whatever kind of Protege you want. A good fuel rail that is available is Perrin. I cleaned up your first post and this thread to try to get it heading in the right direction for you. Members please be nice to new members and say Hi, welcome to the forum before you start flaming ;).

welcome to the forums.. no way you will make good hp with an NA 2.0l... best bet is turbo.. all the info you will ever need can be found on here use the search.. its your friend.. and post pics

and some mazdaspeed parts are worth getting.. but really its better to go with any after market parts and go with a disco potatoe not a gt25 those things a worthless

you could also give supercharging a shot. i am and its turning out pretty cheap actually.

well i know alil bit about cars prolly not near as much as yall do but thts why i joined this form there not stupid qs i just want to make this thing quick and i was actually wondering about a supercharger but one of my "know it all" friends said u cant supercharge a 4 cyl which dosent sound rite

lmao you can supercharge or turbo ANYTHING.. all you need is resources, patience and most important $$$$$.. but anything and everything you need to know/do to this car is on here somewhere.. use search its your bff

my supercharger price (if i dont blow up my motor) will be about 400$ total

just like a few members have already said. Boost is the best option. There is absolutely no way you are going to make the car fast without it.

no he was right the first time.. no way in hell you can make this car fast as a NA build.. you can spend less on a SC or snail and make more hp then naturally aspirated

but that doesnt mean you cant make a car fast NA. its very possible... go forged, up the compression and overbore, cams, ssafc, intake, header, exhaust, bigger valves, headwork and mill the head. itll easily make more than an msp. its just the fact that it would cost alot when you could put the same money towards boost.

it just erks me when people say you cant make it fast na. yes you can. it just takes money.

trust me bro this engine will not be fast as an NA build even with allllllll that.. you MAYBE hit the 200whp mark.. maybe.. you can make over 200whp easy on the stock engine with boost.. this isn't like a v8 where all that makes a huge difference.. which is why no one bothers doing a na build..

unless you know of a build on a fsde that i never seen??

im not comparing boost to na right now. im saying 200 whp na on a little protege would be unbelievably fun.
