Mazda 3 runs 12.7 at 116 mph

We raced our Mazda3 last saturday again and it seems to get better and better. The car hit an amazing 12.7 at 116 MPH at 14 psi of boost.

Still has stock clutch, stock engine and transmission. I did it on race slicks, and rear skinnies, but everything else on its place. All seats and even the floor mats were left in the car.

I started doing 13.7 but the track kept getting better and better and since I do not have a LSD I was spinning all first and half of second gear. Then a 13.4, 13.0, 3 times 12.8 and the best 12.7 at the end of the night.

I did a 1.8 0 to 60. The car felt perfect however at the end I was smelling a little of clutch bieng burned thru the track. I shifted at the redline always to avoid a clutch failure, but i do need a better unit to install the big boost kit.

WOW!!!! 116 is flying!!! that mph is good for 11's with a decent 60ft... good job juan. (thumb)

What kit are u running on it?
Sounds like the mazda 3 has some potential.
Great Job!

Awesome (thumb)

A girl-friend (the wife watches these forums) of mine at work just bought a 3 and has already started saving for your Turbo Kit :) After getting the feel of Boost from my car, she has to have it......that didnt sound right.

Anyways, shes gonna go nuts when she hears what its running........

So what's the trick to getting a good 60ft, besides the slicks? What is the best on stock tires? What RPM do you launch at? I suck at launching with this DAMN 1 wheel drive!!!

Well it is a matter of experience and testing. All tracks are different, all cars are different and the best is to practice. My best on street tires has been 13.7, but I have to be very easy on the throttle on first and second gear. I launch at around 5500 RPMs.

amazing isn't it. I wish my car could put that time down on that psi and with stock clutch and tranny.

Once again Juan comes out of the woodwork with more mouthwatering performance for our Mazdas!

The 2.3 is Mazda's secret weapon...Now with the results Juan is getting and the performance of the DI 2.3T...look for this engine to raise Mazda's game in the future!

Im glad to see the 2.3ltr engine breathing as good as it is. looks like a HUGE improvement over the FS-DE head. That is a def. plus when going F/I, displacement doesnt hurt either. Either way, great job to you guys @ Highboost!!!

Wow that's impressive. I can't even imagine what is going to be possible with the DI 2.3's.

wow. thats very impressive. whats the dyno say on that car?
