Received my Lamin-X headlight laminate this afternoon in a smoked tint , total PITA to apply, but got there in the end :) Here are some night shots, will take some in the morning ;)

I have tried it with the headlights on, they show up as a bit of a purple tinge, but dont really cut down the light as much I was thinking, so a plus I guess. Lets just see how long I'll last before I get pulled over :p

Cheers

So here are the afternoon photos:

As I dont have any eyelids on anymore, I cant believe how much light they were holding back, the hids are refracting light like crazy!! I may have to go back to normal headlight bulbs, another thing to think about..

Looks good, projectors would fix that light issue even better..

Hey, your steering wheel is on the wrong side :) Once again, not the biggest fan of the whole sticker bombing thing, but it looks like a good job of it (thumb)

headlights look great! i;ve got lamin-x 'gunsmoke' on my headlights and i love it. its been over a year now. dunno what hid's you run but i have 35w 6000k and was going to step it up to 55w or just try 5000k as i did notice a reduction in light output. i love it tho, and much easier than blacking out the headlights by taking them apart. did that on my first set, then wrecked the car and got chrome replacement, put the lamin x on immediately for style and protection!

and don't worry about the haziness or bubbling. it goes away after a couple weeks and it looks much better, and the purple-ish colour disipates too.

Did you have to roll the rears to get the wheels to fit? any rubbing? tire size?

Thanks

Nothings been done to the rear, just the tyres put on, nothing more ;)

Sticker bombing ftw!!!!!

Cheers mate, the stickerbombed lip has been taken off the car for a couple months - till its painted ;)

is it still dropped 2 inches?
the proportions are perfect for the wheel size.
any issues with bottoming out or anything?

Yes dropped 2", doesnt bottom out, only at the front with the lip

So on Thursday afternoon, as usual to get down the ramps in the secured carpark at work I go down sideways so not to scrape the lip on the car. Well I ran a little too close and hit the raised gutter on the corner of the top of the ramp and with great results - a scraped rear passenger side skirt which has ripped it from the mounting points!:mad::mad::mad:

So in the interim, so that I dont have to go up sideways no more, the lip has been removed:

Havent decided if I want to keep it and get it painted down the track, or sell it (without stickers obviously) One thing I do know is that the whole car will be getting resprayed & all the damage fixed.

Wow, havent updated this for a while, but surprisingly nothings happened to the car!

So, the goal for the next 3mths are as planned:

1. Get the bluebird on the road, lowered and running sweet (all the parts are bought, just need to rebuild carbs)
2. SP20 receives near new FS-ZE, clutch, endlinks, brakes etc.

Currently the SP20 has 222k on the clock, burns oil and still puts out 105.6hp!

Body wise I want to get that sorted as well, even if it means going through insurance, and paying more. Heck even the past couple days I have been thinking of puting the AutoExe lip back on, minus the stickers of course :p

I really dont have much else planned for the Mazda, just get it reliable really, and good enough for some occasional twistie fun ;)

So a mate of mine is currently over in NZ visiting family and also more importantly purchasing some engines for a couple of us 323 guys, buying none other than the 125kw High Powered FS-ZE's, so around 27kw over standard :D

Basically the motor im having imported has 61k on the clock. Im planning on using my stock exhaust manifold & pre-cat, as there is too much mucking round with the ZE collector pipe, im risking losing a couple KW's of power but im ok with that, the AutoExe intake will surely make up for that (even though it will be a great big kick up the pants in power for me :p)

Now comes the fun part - sourcing the rest of the peices for the engine to go in! :D
