Marcs_sp20's project SP20

VERY nice looking, and performing, piece there. I'm very jealous!

Could you feel any difference between that bar and the stocker?

not much of a difference compared to the stock brace, but hopefully will feel a difference once I bolt up the rear to the firewall :)

So this afternoon I attacked the engine bay, firstly by degreasing, then unbolting the cam cover & ridding it of that icky blue paint ;)

I attacked the cam cover with 3M paint stripper in a spraypaint can, and after giving it a good dose, all the paint bubbled & was looking naked within 20minutes :D

seeing as though the cam cover will eventually be covered by the plastic turtle cover, I used a simple black paint ;)

I also yesterday stripped the paint off the turtle cover & sanded it clean, so will have it sprayed the same colour of the car next week :D

Last but not least, gave the interior a clean :D

nice, i really like that strut bar...the engine bay looks pretty good as is already!

ps:i <3 that rear bumper...wish we could get them over here easily

Thanks mate, the strut bar was a real pain in the ass to install, but it really does look mint, I still cant believe I got it soo cheap brand new!!!

And about the rear bumper being a pain to ship, so does importing performance parts from America to Australia, it aint cheap :(

Well finally I got off my ass and sanded 4 layers of paint off my turtle cover & got my father to spray it the same colour as the car. As I didnt have enough dark blue paint, we ended up using cyan blue paint we had leftover from my brothers old car as a basecoat, and then applied the proper dark blue hue, followed by 4 layers of clear, anyways heres the end result, and about all Im going to do to the engine bay :D

Not selling anymore? Also, I spy some fog overlays you didn't list in your mods ;)

Not for another 12mths or so, as really I cant have 2 project cars (my other ride is a 1984 Nissan Bluebird wagon (Maxima I think they are in the US?))

If I were able to find a way of keeping the Mazda, I'd be looking at some Mazdaspeed Seats, engine rebuild (possibly FS-ZE transplant), and bodywork all fixed up. ;)

Received my AutoExe Lip this afternoon, So thought I'd see how it looked, sits very snug against the bumper ;)

Gonna spray it flat black after work tomorrow and have it sitting ghetto style for a while, seeing real paint is a good 8mths away now... :(

Well I had some genuine fun this evening "Stickerbombing" my AutoExe lip :D I purchased a 20 sheet assorted pack of what they call JDM stickers off ebay for $20, and went to town :p I have purchased the official stickerbomb book (which is of real logo's) and should be here in about a fortnights time, that way no white should be left uncovered ;)

Some people wont like the concept, but considering its about a 10th of what conventional painting would cost, I can hold off for a while ;)

I LOVE your "F@uck your Fam" sticker. I hate those damn stickers... But I'm not a fan of the sticker bomb look, Marc. Your car is so clean and slick. Now it seems kinda scattered and the lip doesn't match. But as long as you like, then it's all good. :)

^ Agreed with the sticker bomb, but sometimes it works. In this case, I don't think so, but if you like it, go with it!

Exactly, im over trying to impress people, you do what suits you and your budget, and this fits right in for me :D

and a couple daylight ones ;)
