2012 Mazda5
Hey everyone. I have looked every where and cant find the answer. I have a 2012 5 and really want to do the suspension upgrades. So my question is does the 3 share the same chassis as the 5? If so would the suspension upgrades work the same for both? If any one knows please chime in asap.

Thanks guys

Exact same, but you might want to get ones that are heavier duty for the MS3. One of the theories why lots of shocks are prematurely failing in our 5s is because the 5 is too heavy for the shocks that are made for a 3. Koni and Bilstein have different part numbers for MS3/5.

Gotta keep in mind that he has a 2012. But I assume it should be the same chassis as the 3 if they kept it true to the previous model. Maybe they made the shocks more heavy duty to keep them from blowing out like the previous years?

Thanks for your replies guys. I figure its gonna be the same as the new 2011 3's.

From what I'm reading from others, JBarone's sway bar upgrade is the most bang for the buck. I don't want stiffer because I think the 5 already has a rough ride, but I would like less body roll. Supposedly this sway bar does a great job and is a quality product.

The sway bar is the first thing on order once i get back from the 4k mile road trip on July 1st. Then on to the rims.

The Swaybar are best bang for your buck but I really hate the polyurethane bushing that came with the kit. Its too hard and need a lot of maintenance to prevent squeaking noise. Poly is good for race car that sees a lot of maintenance but way too harsh for family vehicle IMHO.
Mine is Tri-Point and I replace the bushing with Moog Universal Thermoplastic that are a lot quieter and does not need any maintenance. P/N is K7326 which is universal 1-1/4" swaybar bushing for a lot Chevrolet product. Rockauto have it for less than $18 shipped.
