Lowering springs

For my 05 Mazda 6i, Not MS6

Ok..so i purchased a set of Dropzone lowering springs. Lowers F 1.7" & R 1.5". I started with the rear first. Took off my stock suspension springs and put the Dropzone in. Now the car seems higher than the stock did. Is there something i did wrong.

I'm really in the process of taking it to a local tire&suspension shop to do the whole install & alignment, but i don't really want to spend $260. Plus i spent over 4hours last night with friends trying to get this done and this is how it looks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

did you measure? are you sure that it is actually higher?

also, sometimes it takes a while for the springs to settle. have you driven on them at all yet?

See what transpires in a couple of days. It should drop somewhat to the given specs.

I highly doubt you put them on backwards, so that's my best guess.

I sure hope you guys are right about the springs settling. I drove the car for a little bit. Still the same.

I didn't measure it but you can notice how higher my back end is now with the aftermarket ones than the stock one. My friends call my car a monster truck because of the back end, for some reason it did go higher. When some of you put springs on did you DIY or did you go to a local nearest shop and have them install it for you.

One thing you should have done in the rear is cut the "bumpstops" im shure that isnt the problem but its a good thing to do when you lower it

this is a stupid ? But are you shure you didnt get the springs mixed up backs in fronts & fronts in rears ????

Another thing when i lowered my ms6 the drop was visible as soon as they were installed

also depends on the spring rate depends on the settling time!!!!

You don't need to cut the bumpstops on our cars. People do it, but I've never hit mine with the H&Rs.

My guess is you tightened all the suspension bolts with the car jacked up and the suspension at full droop. Loosen everything back up, drop the car onto the suspension, roll it fore/back a few feet and then tighten it all up with the weight still on the tires.

What do you mean? Yes i tightened all the bolts, while it was on the jack. Was i not supposed to?

And am i supposed to take everything off or what. Cause i unbolted the socket part where the spring sits, and i just pulled the stock spring out from under it and slid the after market ones right up in there. Then tightened everything back up.

I'm totally confused now(shrug)

No thanks, I don't care about the tires on the 6i. I'm looking to get these springs on and taken care of first. I will get tires later. I bought a new set of tires for my MS6, Since i drive it more

Those springs look too long to me. Too many coils. They're actually bowing. I've never seen springs for the 6 do that. Wrong springs perhaps?

OP, not sure whats going on but those look to be the wrong springs or you have the the fronts on the rear and vice versa

The rear springs should be of larger diameter than that. It seriously looks like you installed the front springs on the rear.

The 2 middle springs are for the front, the 2 other springs are for the rear.

ok now that makes sense... sorry lack of sleep from dealing with the gfs car issues today or well yesterday(at work now)
